Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Mmmm... So yummy!! This soup reminds me of my fave Zuppa Toscana. I added cooked bacon strips and sliced mushrooms. Kept the skin of the potato on, cut in half lengthwise, then sliced into about 1/4 in. width. Couldn't stop myself from seconds and thirds :]

Japanese Potsticker Dip

This is a good basic recipe. I like to add 1 chopped Thai chili pepper, black pepper, fish sauce, lemon juice, and a pinch of chopped green onions. Yummy!

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

This soup is definitely irresistable. I tried it for the first time a couple of years ago at Olive Garden and was hooked. I prefer to use spicy Italian sausage, a lot of kale, and alot of chili flakes. This recipe also doesn't specify but I love to keep the skin on the potato because it holds the potato slices better. I also use a water and chicken bouillon mix if I don't have chicken broth available. Haven't tried it with spinach but I'm sure it's also good, just not amazing like kale is.

Potato and Bacon Salad

This is a great and simple potato salad. I cooked my bacon in the oven for about 10 minutes, until it was very crispy. Cut the recipe in half to 4 servings. Add about 1 tbsp of white onion and 1 tbsp cayenne pepper. Didn't have Dijon mustard so I used regular mustard instead. Didn't have parsley so used dried dill weed. Topped off with chopped green onion. I didn't mash the eggs in the beginning, instead I put all the ingredients in the bowl, then tossed them all together. I had also made World's Best Potato Salad on this site, and this one tops it by far. This recipe is a keeper that I will be using as a base for my potato salads from now on.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Mmm. I've never had a banana muffin before, but this was sooo good. I made changes that many people have suggested such as: in the batter, I added 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 3/4 tsp cinnamon, used 4 medium sized bananas, used 1/2c white sugar and 1/4c brown sugar. I meant to use canola oil instead of butter in the batter also, but I forgot and had already put in the melted butter. For the topping, increase to 1/4 tsp cinnamon. I had enough batter to make 12 regular sized muffins AND enough to make about 5 extra but I didn't have another muffin tin so I spread the batter on one side a loaf bread pan. I added chopped pecans to the loaf pan one. I also put the toppings on the last 5 minutes of cooking time. After I cooled both for about 10 minutes, I did a taste test. Both were very moist and good, but I preferred the one with the chopped pecans. The muffin ones were missing that extra flavorful crunch you get from the nuts. All in all, this recipe is a keeper! :D

World's Best Lasagna

My first time making lasagna, and it was pretty darn good. My boyfriend couldn't stop raving about it. Didn't need the sausage and tomato sauce and I found that I didn't have to cook the sauce as long as the recipe calls for - cooked for about 15 min. Used all dry seasonings and didn't have fennel so I didn't use any.

God... These were out of this world. My boyfriend couldn't get enough of these. Especially spread with the Cinnamon Honey Butter (also found on this site). I added a little bit of sugar and cinnamon mix to the popovers to add a touch of sweetness. Didn't have custard cups so I used a cupcake tin and had no problems with it.

Stuffed Mushrooms IV

Mmmm. This was absolute heaven. The stuffing was both crispy and creamy. I love the taste of the mixture after cooking on the stovetop, but after it was cooked in the oven it was very scrumptious. I didn't follow exact ingredients in the recipe, I eye-balled and added more of what I love.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

I accidently left the cabbage in the hot water too long so it kept tearing but was easy to overlap and hide. Make extra sauce because it tend to dry out and was not sauce-y enough. Popped in the oven to cook for about 15 min and it was delicious!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

I used iceberg because I already had it available. It was do-able, not the best lettuce to use though. I thought the amount of soy sauce and hoisin sauce combo was too sweet. Didn't use rice wine vinegar, water chestnuts. Added sliced red pepper. Used grated fresh ginger instead of pickled ginger and fresh chopped Thai chili peppers instead of chili pepper sauce.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III

These were good. I used 1/2 c white sugar and 1/2 c brown. Instead of the cinnamon, I put 1 tbsp and 1 tsp of the pumpkin spice also from this site. For half the batch I also added caramel chips. These cookies took about 30 minutes to bake instead of 10 and made about 20 medium-sized cookies for me. It was very cake-like just as other reviewers had said. A mistake on my side, but I felt like the spice over-powered the pumpkin taste. Personally, I would have preferred a little more sweetness. Perhaps I probably would have liked milk chocolate more than semi-sweet because the spice and semi-sweetness resulted in a touch of bitterness. *UPDATE* I originally gave this a 4, but after leaving it for a few hours in the fridge, I had them again and they were delicious! :D I definitely taste that pumpkin taste I was looking for and the chocolate/spice was hardly noticable anymore. So definitely keep them chilled!!!

This was really easy and good to make to have on hand. Now I don't have to buy a whole bottle of pumpkin spice that costs $6+ when I don't often make recipes that calls for pumpkin spice.

Cream Cheese Tart Shells

These tastes really good- especially with the cheese filling also found on this site. Don't worry if the dough mix seems kind of loose even after refrigeration, once pressed firmly onto the muffin tin cups, it should bake and hold up pretty well. I love that it's only 3 ingredients and there is no grease needed to coat the tins!

Wonton Wrappers

I forgot to cover the dough with a wet paper towel, so it was pretty rough to work with. Extremely hard to roll out and took me a long time to get it really thin. But all in all, the taste is amazing! It's way better than the store bought kind. I used a meat and cabbage filling and fried the wontons.

Simple Scones

Absolutely delicious! I didn't grate the butter - too complicated. You also don't need a food processor like some reviews say. What I do is thinly slice the butter then chop them into tiny matchsticks, they weren't even perfect matchsticks either. Afterwards, I take a fork and roughly incorporate the butter into the flour mixture. Besides that I didn't change a single thing. I love this recipe. I now make scones and store them in the freezer for an easy breakfast, just pop in the microwave for about 1 minute and you're good to go!

Tom Yum Koong Soup

Used lime zest instead of kaffir lime leaves, frozen ginger instead of galangal, palm sugar instead of regular white sugar, and added bamboo shoots (sliced) and the bulb of a lemongrass. It tasted just like the Tom Yum from my old fave Thai restaurant, Tamada, that no longer exists!!
