Boiled Custard

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2010
Perfect boiled custard! FYI, this is SUPPOSED TO BE thinner than pudding (hence custard and NOT pudding) as you can either eat it plain or my favorite way: pour it over cake, ice cream, fruit, pie, etc...just wonderful!

Used split breasts and baked exactly as directed, basting every 10-15 mins...absolutely the best chicken recipe i've ever made!!! So moist and juicy the chicken actually "spit at me" when i cut into it, lol! Will be making often ;)

Pecan Jam

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
AWESOME!!! Folks...if you dont let the sugar dissolve and then simmer the mixture for at least ONE FULL MINUTE, of course you will end up with a gloopy mess...the full minute of simmering ensures that every grain of sugar is dissolved...if even ONE grain remains undissolved, it will go grainy again once it cools off...think making candy/fudge ;)

Not really an egg roll wrapper as they are more of a pasta-ish type thing...but this IS a great crepe recipe ;)

Pasta with Peas and Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
Everyone loved this recipe, even my very picky Irishman, lol! Beautiful recipe! The only change i made was to stir in 1/4-cup flour to the sausage and peas before adding the whole milk (substituted for cream as i did not have cream...gorgeous!)...this made a lovely sauce that was just perfect...will definitely be a family favorite from now on ;)

Delicious Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
Beautiful bread! I did, however, substitute 1-cup more pumpkin puree for the oil and used dates instead of walnuts (the basic composition of the bread remained the same with these substitutions)...perfectly moist, rose gorgeously, just wonderful!

Quinoa Pilaf

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
Great recipe! I've made twice and the 1st time I followed the recipe exactly and used as a side dish...the 2nd time I added some small diced ham (could use reconstituted TVP ham if you like, I'm sure it would still work find) and used it as a main dish...LOVED it both times (as did my picky, picky children) ;)

Absolutely wonderful bran muffins! The only changes that i made were i added half a can of very well drained crushed pineapple and 1-tbsp of baking powder (in addition to the baking soda) as i like really high and light muffins ;) They turned out so beautiful! Just perfect with my coffee this morning!

Cabbage Kielbasa Supper

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
My family ADORES this recipe and we have been making it for YEARS! Both boys have learned how to make it to for when momma is not well enough to cook (I have lupus)...Only diff in my recipe and yours is if i do it in the crock pot i only cook for 4-hrs and if i do it in a dutch oven I cook for about 3-hrs at 300F. Anyway, excellent recipe that has apparently been getting passed down for generations for good reason ;)
