Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
This was even better than I could have hoped! I will definitely make this again and again. Spicy, but not painfully so. I followed the advice of other reviewers: used raw chicken that I broke up with two forks about an hour before serving; used additional chicken broth in place of the water; added a can of rinsed and drained black beans; and used pre-made chips from a bag.

Spinach-Infused Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
My sister and I made this for a Christmas dinner (with roast and sauteed portobello mushrooms), and it was fantastic. The only change we made was to use real bacon, because we had some on hand. The dish is very colorful, very flavorful, and incredibly unique -- but not at all difficult to make and seems impossible to mess up. I will definitely make this again and again.

Bacon Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
Flavorful and moist, this is a winner. My sauce didn't turn out (seemed to want to stay separated), but it was still fabulous. Next time I'd probably add more mushrooms, but only because we're big mushroom fans. Also didn't need to cook as long as the recipe stated.

Baked Ziti IV

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
I will never make another ziti recipe EVER. This is absolutely the best. I didn't need to change a thing. Thank you, Seth. Thank you.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
Outstanding! I used Dijon mustard, and I also drained the bacon fat from the pan and then cooked the chicken in the same pan to minimize clean-up. My husband and kids loved it!

Stephen's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
I wasn't as jazzed about this recipe as others have been. I think my butter was too soft because the cookies spread out quite a bit. The big problem, though, was that these were just too sweet for me with the milk chocolate and white chocolate chips.

Best Ever Sausage with Peppers, Onions, and Beer!

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
Sausage and beer, what could be better! This is easy and delicious. I used a red onion, but could have probably used a yellow onion with the same results. I served it with rotelle pasta and a tossed salad. Thanks for a winner.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
As if this recipe needs another glowing review... Simply awesome. Thanks to this recipe, I always keep a box (or two) of instant vanilla pudding in my pantry. [Note: these cookies seem to have a longer shelf life than most, which is crucial where I live in the northeast.]

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
At first I was worried this would taste like something baked in an Easy Bake Oven, but I was so wrong. These are fabulously chewy and also really pretty with the crinkly tops and powdered sugar. My kids love them, too. Easiest cookies ever!

Orange Coconut Salmon

Reviewed: May 26, 2002
So easy and fun! What a great way to serve salmon. A wonderful change of pace from the mustard/dill recipes. I'll definitely be making this again.

Asparagus, Chicken and Penne Pasta

Reviewed: May 26, 2002
Everything about this recipe was great except for the asparagus. The flavor just didn't blend with the chicken and penne the way I thought it should. If I make this again (not sure yet), I might try zucchini or broccoli. My husband really liked it though.

Pork Tenderloin with Creamy Herb Sauce

Reviewed: May 26, 2002
Really yummy! The most elegant recipe for pork I've tried. I'd probably add more carrots next time since we love them and 1/2 cup isn't that much. A definite keeper.

Broccoli Lasagna

Reviewed: May 26, 2002
This was absolutely delicious! Very cheesy, and reheats well. I didn't have a 7 x 11 pan, so I crammed it into an 8 x 8. Doable, but I've since bought the right size pan.

Chicken-and-Pasta Bake with Basil

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2002
This was absolutely delicious! I took the advice of others and made a little extra sauce. It would probably be great as is, but my husband loves sauce. It was great, and a terrific leftover dish.

Romano Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2002
I, too, was skeptical about this dish because it's cooked in the microwave, but it is delicious! It's almost too good to be true because it's so quick and easy. I was looking for a great dinner dish that wouldn't heat up my kitchen during the summer months, and this one fits the bill. I will be making it again and again, all year 'round.

Key West Penne

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2002
My husband gives this recipe a "10." Something he's only done a few times in the ten years I've been cooking for him. Next time I would julienne the sundried tomatoes and chop the artichoke hearts (maybe the olives, too) so that I could get a little bit of everything in one forkful. The flavors are heavenly! Absolutely divine!

Breaded Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2002
This was yummy and satisfying, but there was more work involved (the pounding and pan-frying, plus 45 minutes in the oven) than I anticipated. A good recipe, but not necessarily worth all the time and effort.

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2002
Simple yet elegant. I could easily serve this at a dinner party, but it's quick enough for a weekday dinner as well. No leftovers! (My husband's way of rating a recipe.)

No leftovers here! This was incredibly delicious, and so easy to prepare. A wonderful change of pace from the usual chicken dishes. I'll be making this dish again and again.

Baked Lamb Chops

I was surprised to discover that my 3-year-old son loved this dish, and he'd never had lamb before! It was a cinch to prepare, and quite tasty. My husband loved it, too.
