Winter Squash Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
I make these on a regular basis now. I made them for Thanksgiving with some farmers market delicate a squash I wanted to put to good us. I make them at least once a month. I ziplock them and ration them to the best of my abilities. I use butternut usually and up the amount to 3+cups....I use them for breakfast with honey or cinnamon/butter....yummy! My son and I love them! With honey(cardamom cinnamon) its like French toast!! Great recipe. It deserves more than 5 stars

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
I subbed wheat bran for germ because, it's what I had, banana for egg (1/4c) and threw in a handful of(enjoy life) chocolate chips....Also, used whole wheat flour because why not, right? I sneak it any sweet recipe and no one knows the difference. Yummmmmmy!! They came out of the oven after dinner and we couldn't help but start eating them!! DEFINITELY will make variations of this versatile recipes, thanks!

I initially cocked an eyebrow @ the butternut squash element. Well, shame on me. I've never had a better experience with the vegetable. (and, I've eaten my fair share of it) WOW! This is a favorite for me. Kudos! Love it.

Grandpa McAndrew's Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
Ok. I panicked after placing my bread in the oven and scrolling through the "add salt" reviews. I had noted them prior to preparing this and completely forgot. I literally sprinkled a minescule pinch over the top. Not sure if it made a difference.... Just pulled it from the oven rubbed it with an 1/8 tbsp. Of butter and tap. Of raw honey. Bravo! I will make this all year round. So easy. So incredibly delicious. I didn't know i like Irish soda bread until today. HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

My 4 year old had a great time helping prepare and consume these! Had a quiche in the oven, wanted to make something that she'd really like. It was perfect! We had everything on hand. I recalculated the recipe to 2 and they came out perfect. Wouldn't change a thing

Whole Grain Breakfast Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
A-MAZING! How clever! What a wonderful way to eat a fantasticly nutritious and delicious treat. Seriously! I may start selling these to preschool parents. My daughter loves flax seeds and is no newbie to whole grains or nuts ground to flour but, I am still thrilled to start the school year slipping these into a time deprived hand! So, I tweaked it a bit. I used chocolate almond butter and used dark chocolate chips. I also omitted cranberries because my four year old won't eat them. Though, I think they would certainly compliment these perfectly. Love, Love, Love these. Quite impressed by the results in the food processor. I have been looking for a great breakfast bar. I happened to have everything on hand which meant that it fit my nutritional requirements I will make these time and again! I am thrilled! You and your sister should get a table at your local farmers market. Kudos!

The Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
Love the simplicity of this recipe. Egg allergy over here so, used flax seed/water mix to sub....used 1/2 c whole wheat flour 1/2c regular..... I love the density of it. It popped right out of the pan and I wish my home could smell like this permanently! This for me was the perfect sweetness. My kids and husband love it as well. We'll be making this one any time we have 3 bananas looking to be used! Yum!

Marshmallow Treats

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
Very easy. On the box it calls for 3tblsp. of butter so, we did 3.5. My daughter and i continued on to dip a few in ghiradelli dark chocolate and she put star sprinkles on (the treats and floor......and table) sadly this is the first time I've made these. I have always noted the, "its SO messy" "so drily" "not worth the mess ............" Well, glad I know that unless you leave your 4yr. Old alone to tend to the production of your pretty safe. U literally rinsed my pan with hot water and 98% rinsed right off... Perfect!

Slow Cooker Baked Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2014
So far, so good. Just shy of 4 hours, I made a combo cup and 3/4 of all the liquids (no more added mustard) and added, it's definitely necessary. The inners of the bean are perfect the shell, is almost there (@ about 5 hours) will pull the plug around 6 hours...? The flavor, is perfect. Little sweet, little savory. 100% organic which feels good. Anyhow, I soaked my beans (24 oz) for 19.5 hours. Boiled as instructed (10 minutes) and let sit an hour as instructed as well. Left out the hamhocks as we're veggies over here....will make this again :)

YUM! I have a 4 year old and a 4 month old so, the night before prep was key. My kitchen smells fantastic. I used a non fat milk and a honey oat (whole grain) bread. (I used a homemade butter butter to even the playing field) Next time I will add more pecans and possibly garnish with banana slices (only for personal preference) Great, simple;delicious recipe. Loved it.
