Grandma's Peach French Toast
So good. My kids loved this!
I believe in making recipes AS WRITTEN the first time around, and so I did exactly as told and it turned out quite good. Next time I will add a scant 1/4 cup of cream in the egg mixture, as eggs do well in cream and the bread threatened to be too dry, but allowing this dish to set overnight was key. I would think adding a full cup of milk, as some reviewers have done, would be a mistake, because if allowed to set, all of the bread does eventually soak up the egg mixture. The picture shows this served upside-down, with whipped cream. Next time, maybe I'll try that.
