About this Cook
I have a lot of loves... Cooking & Baking, Sewing & Embroidering, Digitizing, Photography, Gardening and watching my little birdie friends.
My favorite things to cook
If I could go to culinary school, my very first desire would be pastry. I'd want to learn to be a pastry chef even though I love try cooking new dinner items - my first love would be pastries. That said, my favorites that I've mastered are cream puffs and cookies.
My cooking triumphs
Again, would have to be my creampuffs and cookies - recipes are my own through trial and error.
My cooking tragedies
OMG - name it. Does spilling a deep fryer with fresh oil (cold) in it - all over the lenolium floor years back count?

Sugar Cookie Icing
My daughter and I made sugar cookies this past Christmas (2014) and used this recipe AS IS - no alterations. And it came out beautifully. I won't search for another. This one's a keeper. Dried/hardened to a nice soft shell, glossy finish that we could touch without ruining. Lovely even after transport and easy to use. We just used plastic zip sandwich baggies with the tiniest portion of the tips cut off to decorate from start to finish. Thank you to the contributor

Belgian Waffles
The recipe was fantastic and so filling that when I make them again, each of us will have a quarter of a waffle with topping which will most likely be enough to satisfy.

Great basic recipe, especially if you are going to be filling yours with apples, cream cheese filling, preserves or other choice fillings. My experience with the first batch went really well with the taste being plain and somewhat "eggy" but still very good with powdered sugar on them. Before filling the pan again, I added a tsp vanilla, two tsp more of sugar and a dash of pumpkin pie spice. I made two with chopped pecans inside and drizzled with carmel topping along side some whipped cream (canned - admittedly) Wow what a difference. This is the recipe I will continue using - definately a big thank you to the contributor :)
