First and foremost is my Christian Faith. I have a daughter-in-law and son. Debbie is an amazing cook who thinks "outside the box" as she is imaginative with flavors and possibilities, and fresh ingredients. My son is my best friend and often suprises himself in the kitchen with his own inventiveness. We love to share ideas in cooking and all things, with great respect for each other in our opinions. We are all on a quest for organic foods and healthier eating.
My favorite things to cook
I am a meat lover and cook everything from burgers to Mahi-Mahi. A great delight is grilled fruit and vegetables as they get their flavor brought out with a little heat. The "real" favorite is a steak grilled over soaked wood chips for a good smoke. A special occasion.
My favorite family cooking traditions
An aunt is one of my favorite cooks as she had her own beef available to her. Her father was another one. Great fried chicken. He traveled with his job, but when home could peel a potato with a knife faster than mom, my aunt, or his wife, to their displeasure as they did it everyday.
My cooking triumphs
I think I always made good breakfasts. I think my greatest triumph was doing my son's reheasal dinner held outside with strip steak, Lomardi chicken, two vegetables, and a grape salad, all by myself, however, for only thirty some people.
My cooking tragedies
Put them all out of my mind, ha!
