Suzy's Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2015
great recipe & easy as 123. I like the texture of the finished product. one secret is to boil potatoes in a pot of hot water, drain water and leave the potatoes in the same pot, put back on the burner turn on med for 30 seconds and turn off, you will see all kinds of steam evaporate from them as you stir them around for a minute, this will get out any excessive water left in the potatoes, red or Idaho potatoes, I do this for all mashed potatoes.

Pittsburgh Steeler Super Bowl® Sampler

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2014
This was a quick meal for supper, this would be good on a winters day in a roaster pan for a tailgate party. I used ball park franks and andouille sausage, it's what i had on hand & worked great, I just grilled them first then added to my pot of noodles, cabbage, and small red potatoes that i par boiled first.

Bob's Stuffed Banana Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2014
great recipe as is....second time I changed a few things, no need to par boil peppers. i use tomato sauce in stead of crushed tomatoes, I also used all hot sausage. to much filling so I just pick more peppers and fill them & I make meat balls with the left over hot sausage stuffing ad them in with the peppers, they are great for spaghetti. Mozzarella cheese at the end...yum

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2014
I made this many times, I sear my roast in pan of butter/oil, and flour the roast lightly, I ad salt. pepper, thyme, to the roast before searing. I also ad low sodium beef broth in place of the water, this last time I used a packet of onion gravy because the store was out of onion soup mix and actually liked it better with the onion gravy packet. 2 cans of condensed mushroom soup, I add carrots at the beginning, & potatoes half way through, the onion gravy packet was wonderful,

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2014
Wow what a delight, no need for any extra liquid in the beginning. Cooked on hi for the first 3 hours & low for another 2 hrs. I was skeptical about using the whole brick of cream cheese, so I used 3/4 and 1 can of condensed cream of chicken soup, I microwaved the soup and cream cheese to soften a little. added it to the crock and I tasted it 10 minutes later and decided to ad the rest of cream cheese. I also added 1/2 cup of milk and a 1/4 cup chicken broth. this was for my tastes, not as thick that way, and goes further for a family of 4! Wonderful dish.

Sunshine Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2014
I like to cook one side of the bread then flip, crack the egg in the whole cook on medium low flip again for sunny side up. if you don't cook one side first when you flip it the egg prevents the bread from browning on the other side. so cook flip add egg cook flip again cook for 30 seconds last flip for sunny side up!

Egg and Hash Brown Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2014
it was just okay. adding bell peppers, sausage, or ham might add more flavor. if your looking for something simple and filling then this recipes for you! UPDATE Hash browns pan fried first works better as a bottom layer for a crust. just fry hash browns in bacon drippings.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
Holy Pancake lol, truly the best Pancakes I ever made and ate. I have a few tips, after experimenting a little. 1. I left out the butter and they were even better, fluffier and the texture was perfect as another reviewer ADRIENNE27 describes. 2. add a 1/2 tsp vanilla. 3. when adding wet & dry ingredients, mix just to combine and do not mix again. you want the batter thick that's the secret....Fabulous!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2014
I only change a few things, 1 extra bag of Broccoli that I chopped up in my food processor & added near the end.I also used chicken bouillon powder ( 7 cups) & 1 cup of water for the chicken stock. to thicken I just added a 1/2 cup of flour to the butter & onions and made a rue then whisked in the chicken stock slowly. Worked great.(Tip)... cut cheese into 1/4 inch cubes so it will melt quicker and stir because the cheese wants to stick to the bottom of the pan. Great flavor!

Beefaroni

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2013
pretty good, I used ragu 3 cheese sauce and no need for the oven, just add macaroni to the beef in a pot on the stove and your sauce and heat for 5 minutes. you can also add baby swiss cheese slices on top in the pot instead of the cheddar and put a lid on for 5 to 10 minutes and melt it.

Made with a few changes as others recommend..I only used 1/2 an onion,..whole onion to strong first time I made it.. added fresh carrots, pinch of cumin, pinch of garlic powder, pinch of thyme.. added 1/2 qt of chicken stock instead of water. cooked on high 5 hrs... take chicken out and pulled apart, and back in the pot.. I used 1 can of grands flaky buttermilk biscuits, rolled out into little pancakes & cut into 1" strips.. cooked on high for 1 1/2 hours more, then I mixed the biscuit dough all through the juices & added a can of drained pea's & cooked 15 minutes more. Wow fantastic, my family loved it and the biscuits tasted like real dumplings and served with mashed potatoes & gravy. real comfort food an a cold day

Fondant Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2013
Great potato, I do them sliced half inch thick, no oil. they cook quicker, and no oven needed. I start them off in butter medium heat careful not to burn the butter, once browned on the bottom I flip them over and ad chicken stock, very slowly, or it can flare up, finish cooking till the other side is browned. quick, easy , yum I been cooking these for 3 years now.
