Hawaiian Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
I have made this recipe several times and it's a big hit every time. The first time I didn't change a thing, then I tried some of the variations other mentioned. I also used coconut milk instead of water for the 2nd 1/2 cup water and added a 1/2 tsp of coconut extract along with the vanilla. I did find (as another reviewer mentioned) that 6 cups flour was not nearly enough. I end up making 4 loaves which I form into a ball and put each into prepared round cake pans. My neighbors are always happy to help with any extra loaves. Thanks for the recipe!

Soft Sandwich Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
These came out very good. We ate 1/2 of them during the week for lunch and froze 1/2 since there are only the two of us at home. Easy to make although they came out smaller than I expected. Next time I will use a bigger cutter.

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. It is nice to have control over fat/sodium levels in food. I mixed these with my turkey burrito filling and the burritos were awesome.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
This was wonderful. My family all enjoyed it and my daughter has requested that I make one for her to take to work for her birthday in January. I did make a few changes at others suggestions because we can't resist sour cream. I used a 9" spring form pan, 3 (8oz) pkgs cream cheese, 1/2 cup sour cream, 2 tsp vanilla, 1/4 tsp each ground cloves & nutmeg, 1 tsp cinnamon. For the crust I used 1/2 graham crackers & 1/2 ginger snaps. It was my first cheesecake from scratch and with suggestions from others (1 hr @ 350º in a water bath then turn oven off and let it set another hour), it cooked up perfectly - not a single crack.

Cappuccino Bon-Bons

The first thing I have to say is my husband and I ate too many of these last night. These are just awesome. I didn't make any adjustments to the recipe except I didn't dust them with powdered sugar. I will make these again and again.

Very good recipe. I did have to change it only because I didn't have cream or milk so I used buttermilk and it came out great. Thanks for sharing!

Cheese and Sausage Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2010
I made this for dinner last night and thought I'd have leftovers but we ate it all. The zucchini I had were smaller and I cut the recipe down since it's just the two of us. It was quick and easy and very tasty. I did mix all the stuffing instead of layering it and then sprinkled additional cheese over the top. I will make this again.

Lit'l Smokies® With Bacon

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
Awesome for a pot luck, always a crowd pleaser. Thick bacon takes forever to cook and smokies start to get almost burnt so I use regular slice bacon. I toss the wrapped smokies in a bowl with brown sugar then sprinkle what is left over the smokies. Foil line the pan (for quick clean-up) and cook on a cookie rack over the pan. To keep warm, toss them in the crock pot on warm setting.

I made this recipe using a bundt pan as recommended by another individual. It came out good and everyone at work like it but it was a bit heavy for me. I'd make it again for a pot luck or such.

Creamy Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
This is a staple frosting for me. I found it a little to sweet for my tastes but I just cut back on the sugar without it having any affect on the frosting. For something a little different, add some cocoa powder to make a chocolate cream cheese frosting.
