Chili I

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2003
hhmmm...the chili was very good, very different. The unusual ingredients blended well, but it was very sweet though, to the point that it was too distracting... I highly recommend slowly adding sugar to taste. Then this would be a five-star.

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2003
Yuumm--I used canola oil spray to coat the fries instead of oil,and I think I ended up using way more spice than it called for. Incredible. Definitley better than the seasoned steak fries at the grocery store.

Honey Crunch Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2003
Very good pie. A much more beautiful presentation than other pecan pies. The crust makes a little too much though...

Bubble Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2003
Wow, this is good! I usually make from-scratch pizzas on a pizza stone, but I was in a hurry and happened to have the ready-made biscuits. I used Ginny's biscuit method, but jazzed it up with pesto, pepperoni, mozzerela, feta, and olives. Once out of the oven I topped it with lots of red-pepper flakes and romano chesse. YUMM!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2003
WOW! First try, perfect results...I even used neufchatel cheese, and substituted some yogurt for missing sour cream. Perfect texture when baked at 325 degrees for 60 minutes. I then left it in the oven overnight. Perfect.

Cousin Cosmo's Greek Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2003
AMAZING! I made this because it had such good reviews--and wow! It was very easy and quick to make, the presentation was beautiful with the sauce poured over the chicken breasts. I served it with greek salad and garlic bread, and of course wine. Perfect for candlelight. You really will think you are in a restaurant!

Butternut Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2003
Sooo smooth, buttery, and loooovely. And so satisfying. I also added some mashed sweet potatoes to the butternut mixture. Definitely is as dessert--my friend said he now prefers it over cheesecake! That rich and good!

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Great. I added lots of carrots and peas also, but also half a cup of chopped hot kimchi. I also did not think it needed any salt.

Tex-Mex Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2002
This is a very good idea, although I did alter the recipe. I used my own macaroni noodles and added milk and velveeta for the cheese. I also added a quarter cup of salsa for a tangy taste. Very good and creamy.

Excellent chicken fried steak! Just like my grandfather made when growing up on a farm! I used olive oil instead of peanut oil and the taste was very light and good.

Good, but didn't rise much. More crispy than chewy. But good for time crunches.
