Buttermilk Pie IV

Reviewed: May 19, 2012
I have made this twice now. The first time I took it out 5 minutes early because the top was getting so dark. That was a mistake as it was too runny. The second time, I covered it with foil towards the end and left it in for an extra five minutes. It was still a bit runny, but not so bad. It thickened up after I put it in the fridge. Will I make this again? Maybe if I have the ingredients already, but only then. Tasted pretty good.

Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole

Very easy and good. I made it using half boneless chicken breast and half boneless thighs to keep the cost down a bit.

Creamy Linguini for Two

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
Yummy! I think next time I will use slightly less pasta and slightly more nutmeg, but still it was excellent and simple. I did add some cooked chicken cut up because to me otherwise it would have been a side dish and I wanted to make it for our main meal.

Fettuccini Tomato Rustica II

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
Tasty, but a bit on the pricey side. I doubled this recipe because a member of my family is a big eater and leftovers never last long. There are three adults and two children under five. I would have been just fine if I hadn't doubled everything. I have a massive amount of leftovers!

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
This was a simple recipe, but I doubt I will make it again without major changes. My two grandsons (4.5 and 22 mos) would not even touch it. My son in law, who eats pretty much anything, thought it was ok, but not at all filling. I like the general idea of this recipe, and think that it might be one of those dishes that taste better the next day, but still............ I may try it again using sun dried tomatoes instead of the canned tomatoes. I had high hopes for this so I was pretty disappointed.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
The cake is very moist and tasty. The icing however has a little sour taste to it. I may well make the cake again, but will try a different icing.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
I probably shouldn't rate this at all, as I made this because my daughter loves Chicken Cordon Blue, and I figured she would enjoy it. She did. It's just not my thing though. It would probably be popular at a potluck supper.

New York Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
Very tasty. The only thing I would say is that it says to cook the garlic in hot oil, and I would say make sure you turn down the heat, because I burned my garlic the first time round. I also like the comment Mary (posted 3/26 - Thanks Mary!) made about mixing the wine, soup and cream cheese in the pan. I agree, much easier that way. I will be making this again, it was simple. The part that took me the longest was chopping the rosemary. There has to be an easier way than how I did it! :-)

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
This just may be the tastiest thing I have ever made from an allrecipes recipe! I have to say though, that mine was ugly as could be. I kind of wish I had taken a picture it was so ugly. I used frozen pie crust and the top layer broke up into more than a few pieces. The next time I make this, and there will be a next time, I will try it in a casserole dish instead of pie pans. I could not get all the sauce into the plate and the sauce is marvelous, it would fit if I used a small casserole dish. I will very likely make two next time and freeze one. This recipe is a real winner!

My four year old grandson, who is a picky eater extraordinaire, asked for seconds! I did quadruple the sauce however, as my family loves their sauce!

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
My sil liked this a lot and wanted me to send him the link. It was OK, but I don't plan on making it again myself. I would suggest that it might be better to put the crushed red pepper flakes on the table instead of in the pot.

Chicken Pesto a la Lisa

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
My daughter walked in and said, 'That smells delicious'! Honestly, I felt at that moment that if it tasted half as good as it smelled and looked, I would be happy. It smells and tastes good. Would look great on the table at a potluck supper too! The only thing I might do different is to cook the chicken longer and on lower heat before adding the cornstarch mixture. My chicken was a little chewier than I would really like. I also would double the sauce portion, as my family really loves sauce. All in all, this is a definite 'make again' dish!

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
I'm so happy to have found a pecan pie recipe that doesn't include corn syrup! That's not the only positive though, this is a very tasty pie, and really simple to make. From now on, when I make pecan pie, this is the recipe I will be using. Thanks so much for posting this recipe!

The Easiest Butterscotch Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
This was not worth my time. I have a couple of complaints. The first being that it was impossible to spread the remaining cool whip on top of the bottom layer, which was just too soft to spread anything on. The second was, my 'pie' was in the fridge for about two hours, and didn't firm up one bit. This is essentially a matter of putting pudding in a pie crust. I'm not giving up though, I have a couple more butterscotch pies in my recipe box.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
Very Good. I did a little less milk and mixed the brown sugar and ketchup and put half on the bottom of the pan and the other half on top of the meat during the last 15 minutes of baking. My son in law said he wasn't much of a meatloaf person, but he gobbled it right up. Also, I had my 4 year old grandson help me and he loved getting his hands in the meat to mix it.

The Best Pavlova

Reviewed: May 14, 2001
I took this in for my 'treat day' at work. They loved it!! It's impossible not to hit the mark with Pavlova. I covered mine with pineapple, kiwi, strawberries and bananas. I have to admit though, I did cheat and use redi-whip instead of making my own whipped cream. I feel so guilty. NOT!!!! :-)
