Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2014
This is good but too sweet as written. The second time I made it I used just a cup of sugar and half whole wheat flour and it was much better. I also added cinnamon and nutmeg because it's pretty boring and sweet otherwise.

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2014
This came out great! I used it as the bottom layer for an ice cream cake (I made a half batch) and it was perfect. Delicious cake.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
I was not impressed with these cookies and don't really understand why they get such high ratings. They were easy and came out nice and soft, but they are nothing to write home about. They are a little greasy and not very interesting. Good, but I will stick with my other recipes, which produce better results.

Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
Very good and easy recipe! These worked perfectly and were very easy. Would give them five stars if they were just a little bit fluffier but they were great.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Delicious! They are very good just as written, and I've also tried mixing it up a bit by using half whole wheat flour and adding blueberries and vanilla. They are very good both ways. Great recipe.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2011
These were delicious and so easy. I doubled the recipe (but only used three eggs and far less cheese and butter) and they came out very well, so I think it's a pretty versatile recipe. I brought these to a picnic and they were a hit! Also made an extra pan that I kept to use as easy workday breakfasts. I added bacon, and sauteed the onions in the bacon pan (after draining the grease but not cleaning the pan) before adding. Great recipe!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
Very good! Mine came out a little too liquidy because I added too much milk, but otherwise perfect. I split the batch in half and colored half green and added peppermint to those and then I dyed the other half pink and added vanilla. They're great and one batch was enough to ice about 25 cookies.

Sarah's Banana Bread Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
Really delicious! Nutty and moist. I increased the walnuts, used 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup white, added a tsp of vanilla and about 2 tsp cinnamon. I only had one banana so I also added a cup of applesauce. Otherwise made just as directed - very good! Will make them again!

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
Delicious! Didn't have tomatoes but otherwise followed the recipe more or less. I increased the spices and added some cayenne but only used about a cup of lentils. It was very good and I will definitely make it again! Love the mix of spinach, carrots, potatoes and onions. I used balsamic vinegar, which was a GREAT addition.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
Very good! I've made these just as directed and with modifications and it worked very well both times. This morning I made it with a little bit of applesauce in place of an egg and with buttermilk instead of milk and they are still delicious! I definitely recommend cutting the topping as the recipe makes WAY too much. Very good and I will make them again!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
This is very good zucchini bread! I cut the recipe in half (used 2 eggs) which worked very well. I also used 1/3 whole wheat flour but otherwise made exactly as directed. It took close to 60 minutes for the tester to come out clean. I will definitely make this again!

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2010
These were great! Like another reviewer I used skim milk with 1 tsp of lemon juice in place of buttermilk. I also used raisin bran instead of wheat bran and raisins and they were delicious. Not too sweet and perfectly moist. Will definitely make them again!
