Slow Cooker Ham
I used a 1 kg (about 2.2 lbs) ham... I was nervous about time/everything from previous reviews and because I only just got my slow cooker (no exp w/one). My husband said this is the best meal he's ever had. Since I have a 6 ltr slow cooker I got nervous about it being so empty, 1 hr in I added whole peeled potatoes and 4 carrots (peeled/sliced), also added about 1 cup boiling water at this time to help veggies cooked, move meat on top of carrots. sprinkled a tiny bit more brown sugar on the whole lot and closed the lid (I only used about 1/3 cup brown sugar initially), was incredible!! So if 1 kg ham, 6 ltr new slow cooker = 6 1/2 hours on low. And feel free to add in the veg. thx for this recipe. Ham is the biggest dish here in Ireland and you just made it even nicer!! :)

Very Simple Spelt Bread
allergy friendly/dairy free, substitute milk with rice milk, substitute molasses with agave syrup (all natural low gi), use sea salt instead of salt, -- i have 3 under 5 children with lots of allergies and they ALL love this bread!! thank you so much. best recipe I've found. and great great great tip re: covering while cooking with similar sized pan- makes the crust like real bread and got my pickiest eater able to eat bread again!!! :) - i also left out the sesame seeds.. but when I use the brown spelt flour i add in flaxseeds. :) yummy.
