Braided Easter Egg Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2005
Wonderful! I made the dough in my bread machine to save time and effort and only put two eggs into the braid. I painted on the coloring so it didn't bleed into the bread too much. My mother-in-law actually took a picture of it! It tasted great, too.

Thanksgiving Corn Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2006
Nice flavor, but I think I'll make it a smaller casserole dish next time. It was such a thin layer.

Cranberry Chicken I

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2002
I didn't have any french dressing or onion soup mix, so I made the dressing and chopped an onion and added it to the mixture. We had it with salad and plain, white rice and it was very good.

Simple recipe that takes barely any time or effort. I used bananas and it turned out great.

International Pancakes

I thought these were the worst pancakes I've ever eaten. They were chewy and tasteless.

Irish Car Bomb II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2001
That is just way too much to drink all at once. Whatever you do, don't let it sit around for any length of time. Just drink it.

Strawberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2005
I used fresh strawberries and made the strawberry mixture a day ahead. If you're going to do this, it saves time, but don't add the water. The sugar brings out the juice in the berries and creates its own "soup" as you've seen with strawberry shortcake. It does take longer to cook than the recipe indicates. It cooked for 45 minutes and was still a little under-done. Tasted good, though.

Creamed Onions and Sage

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2001
My mother usually makes this at the holidays, but this year I did it and I used this recipe. My sister said it tasted "just like mom's!" That says a lot!

Cod au Gratin

Yes, you should spice it up a bit with some herbs or garlic. This is a good recipe for rainy days.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
A nice taste. Good for something different. Do not add the dressing too far in advance or you'll have mush salad.

Blueberry Scones

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2005
They are a bit sticky, so adding some flour is a good idea, but be careful not to add too much. Just enough to make the dough manageable. If you're careful while mixing, you will not have too much trouble with the berries bursting. Small, wild berries don't burst as easily as the large, unnatural ones you get at the store. I use brown sugar and white sugar, too. The taste of these scones was very nice. My husband loved them.

Toll House® Party Mix

I forgot to cut up the caramels. Big mistake. I used semi sweet, but I should have used milk chocolate. Next time it will be great!

Pumpkin Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2003
Had this at Thanksgiving and it was pretty good. I used fresh pumpkin so the texture was a little strange and I think that scared some people off. Not sure if I'll make it again, but will use canned pumpkin next time.

Vegetable Medley Casserole

This was a last minute addition to Christmas dinner. It was good, but not spectacular. I think using fresh vegetables would make it tastier.

I really liked this recipe. I still prefer the meat pie my french-canadian Memere makes, but nobody can stand up to her cooking! I will make this again around the holidays.
