Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
They are heavy, and just too much spice. All we could taste when we bit into them were nutmeg and butter. It's a shame because the other reviews made this sound so good.

Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2012
These are a HIT with our Goldens. They actually DEMAND for these buscuits! (Mental image to help explain this: You are getting ready to leave, keys in hand, in the bathroom, and your dog is BARKING at you for their PB buscuit before you leave) It's hilarious! But for those venturing into buscuit making, these are super easy to make, and our pups LOVE them.

Macaroni and Cheese for Two

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2012
Overall this is a fantastic and simple mac and cheese recipe. Loved it. The only thing I changed was that I omitted the butter entirely, and personally, I'm not keen on the way cheddar separates, so next time I make this, I will make with Clearfield American Cheese (New Yorker is a similar brand) to replace the cheddar. Definitely sharing this with my other mac and cheese loving family members!

Beth's Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2011
Got a big "Mmm!" from my husband! The cookie and frosting really complement each other making it a nice, sweet, but light flavor. I added an extra teaspoon of vanilla to the icing since I love the "orange julius" type of flavor. Will be making again.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
Perfect with a cup of coffee. They had a nice flavor and were very tender. They also rose nicely. I'm not quite sure yet how they hold up against longer timed versions, but I want to see before I come back and revise my review. Overall, very VERY rich. I would make this again, but cut the spread by half. I don't know how these could be gone so quickly unless you have a large household or taking these to an outing. Would make again, but only when I have company to enjoy them with. They are definitely an occasional treat.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
This has to be one of the best muffin recipes on this site. My husband looks for me to make these muffins. I skip the crumb topping.

Broccoli Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
This is a delicious recipe. VERY filling. Since we put this into a large casserole dish, we didn't use as much chicken and other ingredients, yet the sauce was plenty. This recipe really doesn't need that much cheddar cheese, either. I maybe used at the MOST, 1/4 cup, and mixed it into the sauce instead. Also, we grilled the chicken with a little salt, pepper and olive oil. Definitely a nice comfort food dish for the fall/winter.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

This is a fantastic dip to bring to any party. We served it with bread from our bread machine and chips. Easy to make and went FAST! One friend said they wished they could just eat it by the spoonful.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
This is really a fantastically simple and tasty recipe. Since my husband is not fond of overpoweringly sweet, we cut the recipe by 1/2 cup. It has a great cheese flavor and complemented the lemon cupcakes we made!

Lemon Cream Cupcakes

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
One word...delightful! The lemon flavor is very light. It does not overpower. And the texture was perfect and incredibly fluffy! I paired this with a cream cheese frosting for a cookout. They certainly were a hit!

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2011
This was fantastic on many levels. It was easy to make and had a fantastic flavor. I used all-purpose flour and let it rise an hour between each step. The loaves turned out beautifully and got raves all around! Thank you for sharing this!

Pasta Carbonara

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
Fantastic, and restaurant quality! I took some of the suggestions of cutting the butter and cheese (to reduce salt and fat). I also dabbed a bit of the bacon drippings out with a paper towel. It came out perfect! This turned out super-filling and absolutely delicious. We also added grilled chicken to make it a complete meal! And in recent versions I've added peas and broccoli to make it even more outstanding!

Vanilla Granola

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
Really nice flavor, first time I've made granola. The smell of the vanilla filled the whole house. It's turned out to be a hit with family and friends! I added dried apples in for more crunch, rasins, and almonds. In the syrup, I added a dash of salt to help bring out the flavor. Also this is a fantastic recipe because not only is it delicious, it also is cheap and VERY filling! In moderation can really take care of those midday snack cravings!

Gingerbread Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
Very nice recipe. The spice is nice and light. If you're looking for a nice change of pace, this is definitely up there. I dipped part of ours with white chocolate, and next time, maybe I would add chopped walnuts. But turned out lovely. I would make it again.

Highly disappointing. I read through suggestions and followed the recipe to only get hard, flat, partially burnt discs.

English Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
Fantastic recipe! I just made some for my fiance and I for our breakfasts in the week, and WOW! They are fantastic. Nooks & Crannies, great flavor, it has everything! Original owner of this recipe, you have Mr. Thomas beat! I changed the melted shortening for veg. oil/canola, and still turned out great. Also, these cooked up much faster than I expected with a gas range stove.
