Vidalia® Onion Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2015
The browned onions added a lot of flavor to this. Don't use too much butter or you will end up with a greasy dip.

Hot Vidalia® Onion Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2015
This was overly sweet for an onion dip. Next time I will totally eliminate the sugar.

Quick Pickled Pepper Onion Relish

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2015
It seems as though Chef John's recipes never fail in the flavor department and this one holds true to that belief. After making and tasting this I thought of many ways I could use this. I finally stumbled upon Peppadew® peppers at my local market in the olive bar. I do believe that the Peppadew® peppers are a must in this recipe. Thank you Chef John for another outstanding recipe.

Barbecued Spareribs

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2015
Knowing that the cook time is off after reading the reviews I went ahead and cooked as stated then finished them off on the barbecue. Nice little charred edges of the pork ribs slathered in the sweet chili sauce made for some down right good ribs.

Cerdos en una Manta (Pigs in a Blanket)

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2015
I really like the concept of this recipe but I think the canned biscuit dough (knowing full well that it's for ease of use) ruins the flavors of the filling. Next time I will use a Maseca brand instant corn flour to make the dough. The flavors of the filling are spot on and can be used in other applications.

Chorizo and Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2015
I used pinto beans with jalapenos and this turned out good. The brand of chorizo I used was Cacique chorizo de puerco. I'm not sure the baked beans would make a huge difference but I thought it needed a little heat and the jalapenos delivered.

Special Fried Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2015
I made this recipe exactly a written including the Sriracha except I omitted the MSG. As a lover of Sriracha I didn't even second guess the amount and used the full tablespoon. Although it wasn't blazing hot it just overpowered the flavors of the fried rice. When I make this again I will only use 1/2 tablespoon so yes, as the recipe states, add the Sriracha to taste. Otherwise this is a keeper and no MSG is needed.

Quick Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2015
I must admit that I accidentally added too much pudding to this recipe however this is insanely good. I really don't remember how much pudding I added to the whipped topping but when I make this again I will update the amount of pudding I used. My 14 year old grandson tasted it and thought it was ice cream giving it 5 stars. I only gave it 4 stars due to me altering the recipes.

Halloween Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2015
The furthest thing from my mind is a pasta salad during Halloween however that is no longer my thoughts. This is a winner. I happened to have Halloween pasta on hand so I used it in place of the wagon wheel pasta too. I'm not a big fan of garbanzo beans so I subbed cannellini beans. Other than that the rest of the recipe was followed. If you have a fall potluck to go to I highly recommend this recipe.

Perfect Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2015
Just enough spice to warm the cauldrons of your soul and keep the goblins away but not enough to scare away the ghost in you. Smoky, spicy goodness.

Seasoned Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2015
I didn't have tamari sauce nor was I going to run out and buy some. I used soy sauce instead. Nevertheless these were good although next time I will add about a 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne to add another dimension.

This is my second try at using Barilla Pronto pasta. This flavorful one pan recipe turned out great. It doesn't get much easier than this.

One Pan Franks n' Beans Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2015
This is so easy and turns out quick. If you are not watching it make sure you set your timer because the Pronto pasta cooks fast. I like one pan meals and this is worth making again. I used the sweet heat of Sriracha for the hot sauce.

Cucumber Soup with Tomatoes

The pure, cool, sweet flavors of fresh tomatoes and cucumbers make this ideal for those hot summer days. I used English cucumbers for this along with farmers market fresh tomatoes.
