Does what happen in Vegas stay in Vegas?

Updated: May 26, 2012 5:59 am

It started here.

No, this is not Peter Fonda.

This is the famous Baking Nana.

Me and my gang.

l to r: Marianne, Cathy Meyers, Bibi, Baking Nana, Del Mar Girl, Pattycakes, Magnolia Blossom, XrayBarb, Allrecipes Elizabeth, and me the old man.

Oh, and DW and I picked up Mauigirl at the airport.

Now for the rest of the story I take the 5th. I know this blog has an edit button, but let me tell you, I'd have to be granted full immunity from all attendees in order to add further information including photos regarding the Las Vegas blowout.

And to my embarrassment the girls dressed me in a Martha Stewart apron and lei'd me. Photo? They will have to blog on that.

May 22, 2012 5:31 am
so glad you had a great time bd.w, I wanted to quickly check out the gossip and happenings from the weekend before I started my day. Be careful what you wish for, being the only person there with unshaved legs....I would have taken that as a challenge and tried a quick wax job on you:P The group pic is great, B'Nana on a hog, I knew there was a rebel inside her.

May 22, 2012 8:46 am
Noemi - It was a great pleasure to meet you. Maybe again at a mini So Cal.

May 22, 2012 8:49 am
BN - Yes, Mauigirl certainly out did herself with her busy schedule. The buffet Mauigirl put out was better than any buffet I've seen in Vegas.

May 22, 2012 8:53 am

May 22, 2012 5:50 pm
BTW bd.....time to start planning that pool for your bride. It is the favorite room in my house. Before you start, I can give you some good advice on dealing with the pool companies and the things you might enjoy and the things that I screwed up on with mine LOL

May 22, 2012 6:01 pm
mauigirl - Thank you. We will definitely consult with you.

May 22, 2012 6:05 pm
I am so jealous, what fun! I will attend one of these things one day, just gotta get this economy going lol! Great reading your blog and all the replies!

May 22, 2012 6:14 pm
Raedwulf - Thanks for looking in. Come on now look for a gathering near you we need more hairy legged ones to attend these.

May 22, 2012 6:54 pm
Looks like a good time was had by all! Maybe next year . . . sigh.

May 22, 2012 7:38 pm
You DO know, don't you, bd, that men ARE shaving their legs now? And their arms and their chests. Just saying....

Bibi
May 22, 2012 7:43 pm
Wow, handles a grill beautifully and has great legs to boot! I think you captured the weekend well, bd!

May 22, 2012 7:50 pm
Marianne - I'm not into manscaping, I would think the hedge shears would hurt. Lol

May 22, 2012 7:52 pm
Bibi - Thank you. Do I still look like a tourist?

May 22, 2012 8:03 pm
luv2cook - Hang in there, you will make one.

May 23, 2012 6:28 am
OMG, fishing in maui's pool? What a great idea, could fish off shore in a lounger with a cold bevvy. bdW on the grill, nothing better than fresh fried fish!

May 23, 2012 6:51 am
RNG - LOL. Actually DW was fishing out leaves that a nice little wind blew into the pool. Now she wants to buy a pool. Yikes, I'm just trying to keep my head above water with all those letters she gets from her boyfriend "Bill".

May 23, 2012 7:08 am
Bill and I have a love/hate relationship. I keep trying to pawn him off on another woman, and he keeps returning. If I do not acknowledge him, he starts to make phone calls, talk about a demanding and expensive relationship

May 23, 2012 8:21 am
It seems, you got off fairly light, bd. You only had to dress up in an apron and show some legs. Perhaps you are a new hero? It's great that you, you, DW and the group had such a good time.

May 23, 2012 9:00 am
Mike Harvey - I may have gotten off light with the apron but it was heavy with friendship. Your going to have a blast. Trust me!

May 23, 2012 1:50 pm
It was awesome talking to you too! Hey, you had to go to work so you all could sit down in the shade and have an awesome dinner! I knew you all would have a grand time!

May 23, 2012 2:35 pm
Cat Hill - Thank you. Wouldn't it be great to make the trifecta some day - West Midwest and Southern?

May 23, 2012 7:09 pm
Hey, bd, we should put THAT on our bucket list!

May 23, 2012 8:16 pm
Marianne - I'm in for a trifecta though I doubt it could be the same year as Hawaii. Wouldn't that be fun?! You gotta bring hubster though.

May 23, 2012 9:03 pm
We are not going to Hawaii. Our Octobers are just too much here---granddaughter birthday, and many etcs. You'll have to give me an email when you get this way and we four can meet for lunch. I guarantee hubby and you will get along.

May 24, 2012 6:36 am
Marianne - Sounds great! We visit my parents in Long Beach often.

May 24, 2012 12:41 pm
The answer to your question is "no!" We bring it home in our hearts and carry it with us wherever we go =D What a splendid weekend it was! And what a treat to meet you and Debi face to face! Can't wait to meet your sweet little avatar next (= Thank you so much for sharing the pic of Elizabeth and me, too. I am stealing everyone's pictures and building my own little Vegas album - the joys of having a Mac (= My man-child will have a fit, though - he just got me to clear off my desk top, and it's now covered in Vegas memories (=

May 24, 2012 12:43 pm
As you know (because I am a dweeb and sent you your own recipe - lol) I sent your recipe for Jailhouse Dip to everyone on the Vegas email list. I have gotten many "thank yous" back = everyone is happy to have it! (Why does my computer think "yous" is spelled wrong? - lol)

May 24, 2012 1:33 pm
Great blog ~ looks like I missed out on so much fun!

May 24, 2012 2:14 pm
xraybarb - Thank "yous"! It was a great time. Yes my little avatar will be with me for sure on a SoCal roundup. Lol my spell check didn't pick up on yous.

May 24, 2012 2:15 pm
apple.strudel - It was a blast, hopefully one will be coming near you. You would never know some of us had never met in person.

May 24, 2012 6:33 pm
Absolutely! But hey, even if only 2 AR cooks get to meet and have a good time it is so worth it :)(:

May 24, 2012 7:07 pm
So true, Cat, so true! Btw, I WILL meet you one day! Watch out! lol!

May 24, 2012 7:08 pm
I have to say that everyone who blogged about Vegas has just been so poetic and eloquent. ALL of the blogs are just lovely!

May 24, 2012 8:59 pm
Cat Hill - I agree with xraybarb, you are so true.

May 24, 2012 9:00 pm
xraybarb - Are you saying I'm a poet and don't know it?

May 25, 2012 12:44 am
Longfellow? lol (=
