Alice's Easy Blueberry Cake

Reviewed: May 4, 2014
I made a full sized cake subbing almond milk instead of dairy milk, and coconut oil instead of butter. This cake is so light and fluffy! It's delicious, and the sugared topping just sets off the whole thing. I used frozen berries, cuz that's what I had on hand, and they all sunk to the bottom while it was baking, but it really doesn't take away from the cake at all. I think I'd make muffins next time, just to try them.

Whole Wheat Vegan Drop Biscuits

Excellent, easy, quick. They bake up light, fluffy, and melt-in-your-mouth tasty. An instant favourite and one I will come back to since I'm dairy free.

Authentic German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
My husband challenged me to make a German potato salad that could compare to his grandmother's. I made this, and he said it definitely compares, and that if she were still living, she'd have enjoyed it as much as he did.

Creamy Drunken Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
WOW! Definitely a winner in my family. We didn't even need a knife to cut the chops, they were perfectly tender. I served them with mashed potatoes and broccoli normandy.

Applesauce Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
Just a re-review. I nixed the oil as many of the reviewers said. The flavor was marginally better, but the bread was still excessively moist. I will not be making this again.

I left out the cheese. Other than that made this to the recipe, and it was an absolute hit with the family! Thank you!

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
I found this recipe for some seeds from a pie pumpkin I got for my step daughter. Incidentally, her name is Rosemary. I've tried other recipies, but this one definitely hits it on the button! Great Recipe! The only change we made was we checked on them with about 13 minutes to go, and they were all done so we took them out.

Very good. I didn't have pinto beans, so I used black, navy, and kidney beans. Other than that, cooked it right to the recipe. It's a great stew. very hearty, very tasty.

Awesome Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
very awesome! I was looking up oven grilled cheese because I didn't want to stand over the stove for a long while, and this totally fit the bill! For a little zing, you can put a tomato in between two slices of cheese. It's very good :)

Christmas Onion Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
I was concerned with taste after reading some comments. I ended up altering the recipe as follows: After sauteing the onions and adding the milk as directed, I simmered the soup for 10 min, stirring occasionally. At the 10 minute mark, I added seasoning, half a tsp of minced garlic, and the beat egg mixture, then simmered for 10 more minutes, Stirring occasionally. I'll have to try this with the parmesan cheese topping because I didn't have any on hand tonight. With my modifications, A hit with the family!

Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
I read through several reviews and was concerned about saltiness. I customized this a bit by using 1+1/2 tbsp minced garlic (which I sauteed for about two minues), no paprika, and subbing Garlic & Herb Mrs. Dash for the garlic salt. I also added a touch more Italian seasoning than called for because I was using this on a noodle side dish. I used an electric mixer to evenly distribute the ingredients in the butter. Complete hit with my modifications!
