Diabetic Dog Treats

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
With 2 female border collies & an "I will eat anything" female lab you hit the mark. Our 11 year old border collie was bouncing around acting like she was a puppy again and the very picky baby (4 year old border collie) was surely in dog heaven (I had to watch my fingers). And...the lab...well, she eats anything. Thanks so much for sharing. I personally couldn't handle the liver thing so I used a 2.5 oz. beef baby food (I don't remember that smelling so bad when my kids were small) with about 3 oz. of beef & vege baby food ( 1/2 of a 6oz. jar) to keep the cost down and many other reviewers suggested it. I also added 1/2 cup old fashioned oats and about 1 Tbsp. flax seed (I had it on hand and the oil is good for the dogs), spread it on parchment paper in a 9 x 13 metal pan and cooked for 15 minutes, cut it up with a pizza cutter (as suggested) and couldn't have asked for more. Our 4 legged girls think you're the best---loved, loved, loved it. Thanks again.

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
This was really terrific. I did make a few changes similar to what was suggested. I added 1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract to the flour mixture. And an additional 1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract to the berries. I also reduced the sugar in the berries by 1/4 cup because I'd just picked the berries and they were just perfect. I think adding the vanilla to the flour mixture thinned it enough that when I put it on top of the berries, I was able to pat it out a little and it made the topping thinner and crisper. My husband, who "doesn't like blackberry cobbler" had to eat humble pie tonite - he loved it. Great recipe and comments. Thanks for sharing.

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
I don't know what I expected - but - these are really great! Rather than do them as jar gifts, I made the dough and divided it into 3 separate packages of cookie dough and stored well wrapped in the freezer. 2 were given as gifts, one I thawed & cooked Christmas Eve..they couldn't have been better. One question??? How did the name come about? Thanks for sharing.

Neat Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
Hubby is truly not a sloppy joe guy...but, he loved this. Will be making again and again. He actually ate it for left overs today!! Believe me, left overs in our house is a big deal. I did reduce the sugar and didn't add salt or garlic powder but added 2 tablespoons of Bullseye BBQ sauce & 4 cloves of fresh minced garlic as suggest in other reviews. Thanks so much for sharing. We really enjoyed it.

Vegetarian Chickpea Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
What a great starting point for an "add to" recipe. I would never have thought of it, even though I make hummus on a regular basis. I never seem to be able to leave a recipe alone but I am rating this based on how it is written, rather than what I choose to add. Can't thank you enough. Hummus is now #2 on my munchie list.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
I use my bread machine for the mixing and 1st rise. I've also managed to sneak in 1 cup of white whole wheat flour and 2 tsp. vital wheat gluten to replace 1 cup of regular flour. The recipe is good enough that my hubby has no idea he's getting some whole wheat. He loves these. Thanks.

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
Great salad dressing. I didn't have poppy seeds but the dressing was fabulous any way. Also had to adjust the salad ingredients based on what we had since we're in the middle of a blizzard. Really!! Will make is again very soon.
