About this Cook
It's still early on in my life but lucky me, I've found my passion. What is it? Baking! I hope to open up my own bakery some day, but right now that's just a dream. For now I'm just trying to get better by practicing doing what I love.
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love to make desserts, they're what you could call my specialty. Chocolates, candies, bars, pies, cakes, shakes, cookies, pastries; you name it I'll bake it. I just find something so rewarding about being able to compliment and finnish off a great dinner with delicious and savory desserts :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every since I can remember me and my mom have always used the same chocolate chip cookie recipe. They come out soft and gooey every time, and boy are they delicious! I wouldn't trade out this recipe or even tweak it for the world!
My cooking triumphs
The most impressive thing I've done is probably a father's day cake that I made to look like a shirt and tie in a box. At a quick glance people thought it was real! And the taste? Well, let's just say it was a very indulgeant work of art.
My cooking tragedies
One time I tried to bake a six layer double chocolate pumpkin cake for my brothers birthday. Unfortunately I set the timer on my oven wrong; it beeped 10 minutes before it was supposed to and, needles to say, the cakes weren't baked all the way through. Since the top and sides were solid I didn't really notice and started to assemble the cake... It all went downhill from there. Five of the six layers ended up collapsing and toppling over onto the floor with most of the iceing. :( Out of time, I ended up recovering the very bottom cake with over-melted icing so the surface wouldn't cave in on the uncooked gooey insides of the chocolaty mess to my brother. Thank god he actually liked it!

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies III
These are AMAZING! I made two bins full and went to bed early.. by morning one of the bins was gone! I'm gessing my family liked them! I subed walnuts for macadamia nuts as a cheaper alternative, and they turned out tasting just as good. Maybe I was lucky, but mine didn't turn out cakey or flat, they were perfect :) I used half margarine and half butter and only threw them in the microwave for about 30 seconds before mixing with the sugar so that could have made a difference. In any case, I Highly recommend this!
