Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
These made a great snack. I had to portion them out or would have eaten them all at once. I followed the other reviewer's recommendations and only used 3 cups of nuts, vanilla instead of water and added brown sugar. Also threw in a little cayenne.

Buffalo Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
This was the most divine chili I have ever had. The only change I made was I ran out of chili powder so I threw in a little cayenne pepper. The heat was just right and the flavor was perfect.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
This was quite a good sauce. I didn't measure the spices - just threw them in. Also added mushrooms. If you let it cook per the directions the parsley won't be so overpowering.

Pumpkin Cookies V

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
These were delicious. My husband couldn't stop eating the frosting. I also liked them without the frosting because the pumpkin flavor came through. Used butter instead of shortening but otherwise followed the recipe exactly.

Pesto Shrimp Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
Loved this. I lightly floured and seasoned the shrimp then cooked them for 1 minute per side in very hot olive oil. Also spread the pesto on the bread rather than tossing the shrimp and omitted the butter. A very simple but tasty meal.

Basil Goat Cheese Pizza

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
This was excellent way to eat pizza without it being too heavy. I used my own dough and a jarred red sauce with basil. Also added a small amount of fresh mozzarella. It was perfect!

Pesto Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
Loved this. Also can use fresh basil in place of the pesto for a lighter, more summery feel. Thanks for sharing.

Butternut Squash Bisque

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
This was my first time ever making/eating Butternut Squash. I found the bisque to be a tiny bit bland and will add nutmeg or cinnamon next time. Thanks to the other reviewers for the tip on microwaving the squash beforehand.

Spicy Salmon with Caramelized Onions

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
Wow! This dish came out way better than I could have imagined. The paste forms a nice crust on the salmon making it have a cajun feel to it. The spiciness is nicely offset by the sweetness of the caramelized onions. It's also super simple to make. I did double the cayenne because I like spicy and omitted the onion powder (didn't have any.) I also used a whole onion which was the right choice. One note - if the salmon is thick then use a lower heat because the paste will burn the top while the inside remains raw.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
This was very easy to make and had a nice flavor. I wish I had thrown some veggies in the pan as well - it would have made a nice stir fry. I didn't have any issues with salt - used a low sodium soy sauce and only used pepper to season the chicken.

Cajun Style Baked Sweet Potato

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
I made these as fries and loved them. Used all ingredients as noted in the recipe but didn't measure them out. Definitely a cajun flavor and definitely a keeper!

Cinnabun Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
These were really sweet and tasty although not quite as good as a real cinnabun. They are not too hard to make if you don't care about presentation. Mine spread a lot even though I didn't put the dollop per the other reviews and were not pretty at all.

This was very simple but I found it to be bland. I had to add soy sauce on top for more flavor.

Loved this dish. Used jalapeno instead of green chiles to add spice. But otherwise it was perfect as is.

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
I have never had this is a restaurant so I have nothing to compare it to but it tasted like chicken cacciatore to me. It was easy to make so I may try it again and add much more spice to it.

Real Hummus

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
I loved this recipe - much better than anything I have ever bought in the store. I omitted the lemon juice and reduced the salt to 1/2 tsp. Next time I will add other ingredients to jazz it up but this will always be my base recipe.

Richer Than Rich German Chocolate Ice Cream

Reviewed: May 15, 2010
I don't really like chocolate ice cream but couldn't pass this up when I saw the title. I made it exactly as written but halved everything. It was incredible. I may add more pecans next time since they're my favorite.

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Loved this dish! Used evoo b/c I didn't have peanut oil. I grilled it and then ate it the next day - I can only assume it would be even better right off the grill. Will make again and again.
