Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
DH gives this dish a 5+ rating!!! He just kept "hmmm hmmm hmmm" while he ate it. I used the advice of another reviewer and poked holes in the squash and oven roasted it until soft. Soooo much easier than trying to fight with the super hard "shell". Added artichokes and cracked red peppers, as DH likes a little more "bite". DH liked it better without any cheese. But, like another reviewer said, this is VERY VERSATILE and ADAPTABLE to whatever your tastes are. I also added a poached chicken breast to the mix to make it a main course. Thanks for a grrreat recipe.Update as of 11/27...DH warmed up the leftovers and said it was still a 5 star. Something to be said for that!

Southwest Ribeye Steaks

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
Waaaaaay easy and super delicious. All I heard from DH was mmm...mmm....mmm the whole time he was eating it. I don't eat red meat so I am never sure what to put on it...this was completely awesome and so easy. Thank you for sharing. When I was mixing this up...DH was in the living room and could smell it...and was already commenting on how good it smelled. :)

Pork Marsala

Very good recipe...I only had regular pork chops soooo I really think this would have been a 5 star with the right "type" of pork.

Sirloin Steak Dianne

DH is rating this a 5 star recipe. He absolutely loved it. All I kept hearing was mm, mm, mm. I rarely eat beef but I did have a few bites and it was quite delicious. I think I will cut back on the mustard just a bit next time. Otherwise, I made it exactly as stated. Thank you for sharing.

Shrimp Bisque

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2007
Awesome and sooooo easy to prepare. Made this for lunch today and it was done in no time flat. Used frozen, cooked jalapeno flavored shrimp. Gave it just a "hint" of heat but the flavor was outstanding. Thanks for a super easy, delicious meal. I saved out a few whole shrimp for garnish but did puree the rest.

Mexican Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2007
DH rating this dish a 5!! I did what a few reviewers suggested. Rubbed taco seasoning and smokey paprika onto pork chops then browned them. I actually left them in the skillet, added everything else and just let simmer until pork was done. One pot, less clean up!! I used 1 can of rotel tomatoes and 1 can of black beans (did not drain). Did not have a can of corn so used half a bag of frozen corn. Seasoned with salt, placed the lid on and let simmer for about 8 to 10 minutes. Added cooked rice (I keep some cooked up and frozen) right at the end....DELICIOUS! Thank you for sharing!!

Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
Excellent recipe!! DH says the spices absolutely "exploded" in his mouth. He just kept saying over and over how good this was. The flavors meld together perfectly. I think it will be even better tomorrow after it sets over night. Super simple and quick to come together. Had everything on hand. Will probably add oysters and shrimp next time, as this is DH's favorite combination. Thank you for sharing!!

Honey Peanut Granola

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
My DH said it is the best cereal he has ever had. So, needless to say, he absolutely loved it. I just happened to come across this recipe and had never made granola before. I happened to have all the ingredients on hand and soooo...I'm so glad that I tried it. I will add dried cranberries next time. I followed the recipe exactly, except to add a small handful of cinnamon sugar to the top while it baked. Very simple to prepare. It will be very easy to "play around" with also, i.e. adding a variety of items, like other nuts, dried fruits or coconut, etc. Thank you for a wonderful, simple recipe.

Smothered Green Beans

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
I made this tonight as a side dish with prime rib, baked potato and asparagus soup. Excellent and soooo easy to make. The only thing I did, was to add a little bit of red bell pepper for presentation. Otherwise made it exactly as recipe states. Thank you for sharing.

Very easy to put together and tasted delicous. DH always does my "rating" and he actually awoke from a sound sleep, smelling these at 1 am (I am a night owl..LOL) and had to have one. Thanks for another keeper. I followed the recipe exactly..except I used "cinnamon sugar" that I keep mixed all together for various desserts.

This is a very good slow cooker recipe. I did not fry the pork and just added the garlic and mustard to the soup that I poured over the pork.

Swedish Cookies (Brunscrackers)

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
True to the description, these cookies are super easy to make and taste absolutely wonderful. I make my own vanilla sugar and used maple syrup. My DH actually gave them this rating. He is drinking a cup of tea and eating them as I am writing this review. He said they would be excellent with coffee or milk also. I even nibbled on one and they almost melt in your mouth. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful, easy, and fast to make recipe.

This was very bland but can be spiced up or additions made, easily. Good "basic" potato soup but needs alot of work to become topnotch. Will keep looking for the "ultimate" potato soup.

Sugar-Free Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
This got rave reviews by my guests and my husband. Only one of my guests is a diabetic but I thought everyone would enjoy this recipe. And I "thought" right!! Be careful with how much whiskey you put in the sauce. Most of my guests liked it but others said it was a touch heavy with whiskey taste. That is, of course, a matter of personal preference. But ALL the reviews for the bread pudding was the same...."excellent flavor/texture". Super simple and fast to make also. Thank you for sharing.

Irene's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
We were not too sure that we were going to like this sauce until today. I made it last week, we tasted it and my DH thought it would be good on "pork". Sooo last night I put it in the slow cooker with a pork top loin boneless roast and let it go for several hours. Then "pulled" it today and OMG...it made terrific pulled pork sandwiches. That is why I gave it 5 stars. I am going to try it on other "pork" dishes very soon. Thank you for sharing another excellent recipe here at allrecipes.
