Bran Flakes Muffins with Raisins

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
I didn't like the idea of using shortening or oil so I changed this part to include 1/4 cup milled flax seed and 1/4 cup of cranberry juice. Any juice would have been fine, but cranberry pomegranate was all I had on hand. I also changed the flour to 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup all purpose flour to make it all more heart healthy. I put in some nuts and 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg. It came out very nicely. Just the size to put in those silicon muffin cups in a countertop convection oven to cook in only one batch. Silicon muffin cups make everything great! Thanks for the base recipe.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
The amount of water listed was too much on these. I had to keep adding flour to my bread machine to make it look right. Would probably work with 1 cup of water or even a little less. The dough was pretty tasteless and did not rise well.

Traditional Gyro Meat

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
The picture was so gorgeous I had to try these. Couldn't find lamb here anywhere, so I decided to try just using beef. Turned out great anyway! I don't like cumin so I skipped that. I also didn't regrind and process the meat before i cooked it. I will do that next time so that it hopefully will slice better. I put in a little bit of Italian style bread crumbs because all the commercial recipes use it. It was just great. tasted just like every great gyro always tastes. Thanks for a great recipe.

Herbed Onion Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I tried a few recipes for bread machine bread from this website, but this one is the best so far. The bread is so fluffy and the texture is wonderful, very much like store bought bread. It rose all the way up in my machine. It also makes a very tasty loaf. I substituted one teaspoon of Anise seeds for the poppy seeds because poppy seeds give false positives on a drug test. I got a very nice tasting bread out of it. You couyld use sesame seeds or any variety of other seeds. Experimenting on this would be great fun. One recommendation for change on the recipe is to change the stated amount of water to 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon. By the time you put in 17 tablespoons you won't have the right amount of water because there is so much error in so many measurements. I also used 1 teaspoon of bread machine yeast as opposed to 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of active dry yeast.
