Authentic Mexican Tortillas

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
I did not care for these. They were pretty salty and way too much shortening; I have it stuck to the roof of my mouth, yuck. They were very crumbly too, I couldn't flip them without them falling apart.

Muffin Frittatas

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
These weren't anything special, but the part that really erked me is that it stuck to my muffin tin (even though I greased it really well). I tried everything to get it off and ended up ruining my muffin pan:(

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
Didn't like this at all. Way too heavy and the spinach didn't seem to go well with it at all.

Ultimate Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
Didn't like this at all. I let it cook longer, trying to get it to set up, but it didn't. It was mushy and very heavy. Almost like an egg pudding. Lacked a bit of fresh flavor.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
This was very good, the best breaded chicken I've ever made. Stayed crisp and moist.

Bermuda Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
I didn't like this much and I am a spinach lover. The dressing made the croutons soggy and the egg seemed out of place. I ate the ingredients seperately, but didn't like it together.

I really liked this, it was warm and hearty and full of flavor.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
These were good. I mixed by hand about 5 min. and let rise about 40 min. in a warm place. They came out soft and chewy, perfect. I feel like some taste is missing to make it taste more authentic, but don't know what it is. Don't let them brown. or they will be crispy, not soft.

Hot and Sweet Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
This tasted pretty good, but then I did end up adding 1 Tablespoon of soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon of fresh ginger and it was AWESOME.

Oriental Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
This was not edible, it was so salty I could have just used soy sauce, it was a waste of time to make it.

Pot Stickers Traditional

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
These tasted great, that was not the issue. I did have a huge problem with cooking them, however. First of all, I bought egg roll wrappers and then saw that the recipe said to fill with 1 Tablespoon of filling, so I cut my wrappers into 4ths. Then I wrapped them all, which if you take 15 wrappers and multiply them by 15, it was a BIT time consuming. I then cooked them exactly how it is suggested in the recipe. It was a disaster. They would not come off of the pan for the life of me. I had about 50 left to cook, so I tried various different tricks to try and get them not to stick, which all failed. I know they are called 'potstickers', but how is it worth all of the work if you are left with a ripped up mess of cabbage and dumpling tops? I was so frustrated after the 3 hours of making dinner I almost chucked the pan accross the room. Granted, I've never made potstickers before, so maybe I'm missing some trick, or something, but it should be in the recipe if there is.

Megan's Granola

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
This was good, I have made it with 1/2 the oil (I really don't see the point of the oil) and it turned out the same. To me the proportion of oats and everything else is a little off. I like a little more oats and less nuts in my granola, it just feels like you have to chew forever.

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
This was pretty good, reminded me of what they used to serve at school. I couldn't find 5 spice powder, so I looked up a recipe and emprovised a bit with what I had. Not a very authentic Asian taste, but still good.

Portobello Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
I loved these. My husband and kids couldn't seem to get over the fact that they were eating a giant mushroom and didn't care for them, but my husband even said the flavor was good. I practically finished all of theirs for them. Delicious!

Grandpa Hubbard's Oatmeal

This is really good, but pretty common, the way we usually make our oatmeal.

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
This was good, but not incredible. All I could really taste was the Italian sausage, and it was really runny. My husband loved it. I think it could be great with a few adjustments.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

These are delicious. I spray them with cooking spray and bake them in the oven instead of deep frying. A new favorite in our house.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
I made this with a few variations b/c we don't use wine. I used chicken broth instead. It was really lacking in flavor, so I had to add a lot of things to it.

This was okay, but lacked a bit of flavor, or spice. I would have liked it to be a bit more flavorful.

Everyone loved this one on Christmas morning. A little too much sausage for me, but it was still good, and perfect for everyone else.
