Irresistible Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
I added vanilla to the filling, and I cooked the filling on the stovetop so I could use it in prebaked tart shells. Really good!

London Broil II

I followed the suggestion I read in the reviews and added 3 tbsp lemon juice plus worchestershire sauce. This marinade earned compliments from my husband and kids- will be using again!

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
These came out so good! I followed the recipe as written, except I didn't roll the dough out as thinly. I also doubled the baking soda and water solution and brought it to a boil and then dropped each unbaked pretzel into the boiling water/baking soda mix for about 20 seconds. They baked up beautifully, and the outsides were the perfect color, glossy and just the right texture. We have enjoyed other soft pretzel recipes, but the results that came from using this recipe and boiling before baking tops them all! The boiling added an extra step. but it really was worth it!

This was a good way to use up the leftover turkey! My family really enjoyed it, and I will make it again after next Thanksgiving!

Easy and Elegant Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
I'll definitely make this recipe again- it was easy and there was no leftovers! I put olive oil in a ziptop bag along with some mustard and garlic and marinated the pork for just a little while. Then I coated the pork with seasoned bread crumbs. I did spray the coated pork with cooking spray a few times while it was cooking to help the breading form a nice crust. The pork came out perfect and not dry at all.

Cheese Toast

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
Super easy and very tasty! I used small slices of french bread and left the crusts on. I mixed the cheese right into the mayo/mustard and then spread it onto the bread slices.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
I made a double batch of these one day ahead for Thanksgiving supper. I used regular white potatoes. These turned out great, and reheated nicely the next day. There was none leftover! This is the recipe will use from now on for large gatherings.

Mom's 'Sweet 'n' Sours' Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
These came out really good! My kids told me to definitely make this recipe again! I browned the ribs in oil and garlic, and then whisked the rest of the ingredients together. I used mostly white sugar but did use some brown sugar. I marinated the ribs for an hour or so, and then put the ribs and all of the marinade in the oven for approx. 1.5 hours. The sauce came out perfectly, and the ribs looked wonderful plated. I served the ribs with rice.

Gingerbread Boys

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
My kids were eating these cookies as fast as I was making them! I did leave out the orange zest due to allergies, and I substituted molasses for the corn syrup. I used half butter and half vegetable shortening, and I used liquid egg substitute instead of the regular egg. The result was the best gingerbread cookies I have ever made! Absolutely fabulous!

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
I made this recipe as originally written, except I used regular onions cut into pieces, and I added a half-can of peeled chopped tomatoes. My husband absolutely loved this stew! I think this was one of his all time favorite meals ever!

Bacon Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
These muffins were a good, quick breakfast for my kids. I did substitute chopped up fried pork roll for the bacon, and I left out the lemon pepper seasoning. I made these at night, and the next morning I popped them into the microwave to warm them up. They reheated nicely. My kids enjoyed them, and have requested that I make them again.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2007
These are great! Perfect for my children who aren't fond of strongly flavored gingerbread. I didn't have any cloves so I used a little extra cinnamon and ginger. I sent a tray of these over to the senior center, and they looked so nice, just like bakery cookies- the seniors ate them right up also!
