About this Cook
I grew up in a family of 8. Being the oldest, I took on a lot of responsiblility & enjoyed "pitching in". Many of my siblings were picky eaters, but I managed to compromise & became what my Mom & Grandma like to call an "inventive cook"! I really enjoy cooking, it's relaxing to me. & I tend to enjoy the solitude of it. (in other words, would rather have someone give constructive criticism as they taste, than correct me while I'm enjoying myself creating ;)

Anything with meat and/or cheese! =D
My favorite family cooking traditions
BBQ year-round. Slow cooker on those busy days. & of course, quiche & other easy/spoiling appetizers for company!
My cooking triumphs
I can sincerely say, I've never burnt anything cooking!
My cooking tragedies
1st time I made cookies, I used baking powder instead of dissolving soda in water ..the whole pan was a big burnt cookie =( But I was 11, and I did my best. haha I'm a very intermediate baker. Pumpkin pie, muffins, banana bread & ginger snap cookies are successful. As far as anything more involved, I'm very intimidated.. AKA cinnamon buns, triffle, etc!?

Hearty Vegetable Lasagna
Didn't use bell pepper or parm or tomato pasta sauce (not on type A diet) PESTO SAUCE Blend together in food processor: 1 handful pine nuts OR Walnuts 1.5 tsp parsley 1.5 tsp basil handful fresh mint 3 cloves garlic 1/2c. olive oil (add more if u want to thicken) 2 handful cheese lemon zest garlic salt

Fall-Apart Pork Stew
I mixed everything up in the crock pot & added cooked beef stew meat. Did not use oil, butter, butter beans, squash or zucchini and didn't have bay leaves. Loved the flavour, it simmered all day 8hrs! Was absolutely delicious!

Tomato Basil Penne Pasta
Sucha great recipe. I was crunched for time, and ingredients. I put actual basil spice in with the olive oil & used baby shell pasta. Also, just used cheddar cheese. Put some cheddar cheese on top when it was all combined in casserole dish & baked in oven for 10min. Company absolutely loved it!
