Lemon Mushroom Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2002
This was amazing. I couldn't believe that a recipe that I already had all the ingredients for could be so wonderful! I added 1/4 c. of the flour mixture to the broth before pouring it over the chicken so that it would thicken a bit while the chicken simmered... to create more of a gravy consistency. I swear, my husband actually LICKED his plate clean! *haha*

Cinnamon Hazelnut Biscotti

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2002
We have "Cookie Wednesday" in my office. Each Wednesday, someone brings in cookies. On my day, I usually try to bring in something not so ordinary. You'll never see me carry in chocolate chip cookies, or anything store bought. I made these a few weeks back and left the nuts out (due to allergies of co-workers) and now everyone wants me to bring them in EVERY time my wednesday rolls around. Not one person didn't like them. That's definitely worthy of 5-stars.

Deep Dark Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2002
I was looking for a cake recipe that didn't call for cake flour. I didn't want to have to run to the grocery store. Other recipes I've tried in the past that use all-purpose flour tasted so terrible. You could actually TASTE the flour, this cake, on the other hand, received RAVE reviews.

Pumpkin Cookies with Penuche Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2002
Another "Cookie Wednesday" experiment. These were, by far, the best cookies I have ever made. Every single person absolutely loved them! I made this recipe 3 times in a matter of 1 week, once for my husband's work, once for my own and once for the neighbors. So far, everyone has asked for the recipe... even my bus driver who asked so he could get his mother to make him a batch *haha*

Easy Devonshire Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2003
Raves, raves and more raves. I made this cream to go with scones I made for a baby shower this last weekend and everyone wanted to know what was in the cream! Several people asked, not only for the recipe, but to take some home as well :)

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2003
I ended up dividing mine into 3 batches because everyone mentioned how large they ended up being: the first batch, I used orange zest and craisins, the second I used lemon zest and poppy seeds and the third was cinnamon sprinkled with turbinado (raw) sugar. I cut each circle into 8ths resulting in 24 scones (perfectly sized). There were only 3 left over from the baby shower I hosted! I brought them into work and this is what my co-worker just sent me: "Thank God I got two of them. They're Great! Thanks!"

Onion Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2012
I've made this quiche a couple of times now... with just a few minor adjustments for our taste. It is a wonderful "building block" for customizations. Rather than list all the changes we made I suppose I'll go create a customized version ;)
