About this Cook
Mom of 3 little ones with a vast array of varying food tastes... it is a challenge to find something that they all will eat!
My favorite things to cook

My cooking tragedies
Back when I was 19 I found an old recipe for "tamale pie." I made it for my then-boyfriend (now-Husband), and to this very day he doesn't let me forget how horribly it turned out.

Onion Quiche
I've made this quiche a couple of times now... with just a few minor adjustments for our taste. It is a wonderful "building block" for customizations. Rather than list all the changes we made I suppose I'll go create a customized version ;)

Grandma Johnson's Scones
I ended up dividing mine into 3 batches because everyone mentioned how large they ended up being: the first batch, I used orange zest and craisins, the second I used lemon zest and poppy seeds and the third was cinnamon sprinkled with turbinado (raw) sugar. I cut each circle into 8ths resulting in 24 scones (perfectly sized). There were only 3 left over from the baby shower I hosted! I brought them into work and this is what my co-worker just sent me: "Thank God I got two of them. They're Great! Thanks!"

Easy Devonshire Cream
Raves, raves and more raves. I made this cream to go with scones I made for a baby shower this last weekend and everyone wanted to know what was in the cream! Several people asked, not only for the recipe, but to take some home as well :)
