I cut the recipe it in half (and added 1 teaspoon of salt) and I got almost 4 dozen regular sized cookies! So, unless you're feeding an army, 1/2 of this recipe should be enough for any normal household.
I did follow the advice of others & chilled my dough before spooning onto baking pan. I only had to bake my cookies for 10 minutes and they were perfect. I liked how they were just a little crispy around the edges yet stayed soft inside. Everyone loved them. Think I've found a keeper!
