I used this recipe as a base and added to it. Like a lot of reviewers I cut the cream cheese in half, I used butter instead of margarine, and home made chicken stock instead of bullion and water. I added two small granny smith apples, garlic, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground clove. I just eyeballed the amounts based on what I like. I added a little cream to thin it out but I think I'll add a little more stock, it's getting lot thicker as it cools. I was really surprised at all the flavor. My husband doesn't like butternut squash and he liked this !
