Delcious! I didn't have chives so I left them out. Tasted just like the Chinese restaurant down the street!

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
I left out the eggs, used chopped dried onion because I was out of onions, used frozen chopped up peppers, didn't add celery, and used 1 tsp of celery salt in place of the salt and the celery seed. It is sitting in the fridge right now "marinating" for dinner, and I can't stop sneaking little spoonfuls of it! It is soooo yummy.

Peppermint Meringues

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
This was a very simple recipe, I've wanted to try making meringues for a while now, and this was perfect. I followed the directions exactly, and they turned out perfect! I used a plastic pastry bag with the tip cut off to pipe them onto parchment paper. I didn't really pay attention to the time, I just tested the biggest, fattest one, and when that one was done, I knew the rest were, lol. Now I can't stop eating them, they melt in your mouth!

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
This was delicious! I hate the little hole the mixer in my breadmaker makes on the bottom of the bread, so I used the dough setting on my breadmaker, then let it rise in a greased pie plate for 1 1/2 hours, then baked at 350 degrees for about 20-30 minutes. Followed the recipe except I didn't have bread flour, so I used all purpose, and it still came out great! I'll be using this one a lot!

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
These were VERY VERY dense. I followed the recipe exactly, except I used 4 mini loaf pans to cook them in. It took about 30 minuted for them to cook, and when we were eating them, my husband said they were more like a pound cake. They tasted pretty good, though, hence the 3 stars.

Artichoke Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
Yummy! This has a great taste! Like some others, I started out with the basic recipe, then made some changes. I added some lemon juice, and I love spinach and artichokes, so I only used one package of cream cheese and one container of sour cream. I also added some minced garlic to the melted butter. Delicious! I put this inside of the "Bread Bowls I" recipe from this site, and it was really good.

Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
This was absolutely delicious! My husband said I should open up a store selling only bread bowls, lol! I followed the recipe exactly, and used a tip from another reviewer and preheated my oven then turned it off for the bread to rise. It took a lot less time that way. It has a great, almost sweet, taste, and the bowls came out nice and soft. I only made 4 bowls instead of eight, and they came out really nice sized, about 8 inches across. If I could rate it 10 stars, I would! This was a hit with my family. I filled them with the Spinach Artichoke Dip from the site.

King Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
This turned out really yummy, despite the fact that I didn't realize I had no all purpose flour until it was time to add it - I used 3 cups of self rising flour, and 1 cup of whole wheat, and it STILL turned out great tasting! Tastes very authentic.

Birthday Bones

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
My dog loves these, they are great, and soooo easy! Definitely cooks in less time than the recipe says, though, mine BARELY took ten minutes. My oven was very preheated from baking pies, though, so that may be a factor....anyway, great recipe!

Cool Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
yummy! i've been wanting to make this for a while now, and tonight, I finally decided to do it. I am a die-hard homemade whipped cream woman, no cool whip for me, so I used heavy cream, 1/2 cup sugar, and about a tablespoon or 2 of dry milk powder to keep it from getting runny (that is the worst!) for mine. I whipped the cream first, then made the pudding mix, I used french vanilla, and only 3/4 cup of whole (hey, i'm already using heavy cream, why not go all the way?!) milk so it would be thicker. I chilled the pudding for five minutes, then added to the whipped cream. I am eating it as I type, and man is it good! I love the cakes Wal-Mart has, only for their whipped cream frosting-ha ha! No more Wal-Mart for me! Seriously, this is GOOD! For those of you looking for a "traditional" frosting, this may not be the right one for you, this is a very light, creamy frosting. Think Cool Whip-as the name implies. Wonderful, wonderful recipe!!!!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2007
Very good, I added all the ingredients together instead of putting the sugar and ketchup on the bottom, then covered the top with BBQ sauce. Very good, very moist!

Mayonnaise Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2007
Very yummy! I did like the last person did, as I didn't have self rising flour either, added 1 Tbsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, and I added 1 1/2 tsp sugar. These are so good with strawberry jam spread all over....mmmm, now I want more!!!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
Very yummy! I used half cream, half milk, and didn't have chicken boullion or broth, so I used chicken seasoning from a shaker, and it still turned out delicious! Great recipe.

Southern Style Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2006
Just finished eating, very yummy! The dumplings were a little gummy, that's why I only gave it 4 stars, but I'm used to dumplings you just drop in the pot, so that could be the difference, too!

Really Creamy Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2006
This turned out really disgusting-I ended up pouring it down the drain. I don't know what happened, I followed the directions word for word.....it was really chunky, not at all creamy.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2006
This was delicious! I did change a few things though. I didn't have any chicken, so I used pork chops, and I added minced garlic and left out the paprika. The ccoking time was only about half an hour, only because the pork chops were so much thinner than chicken would have been. But the taste-WOW! It was great. Easy to prepare, too.

Easy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
The basic recipe was good-I did some tweaking also, like most everyone else. I used only 2 cups of flour, just the regular kind, not many of us have self-rising flour on hand. I added 3/4 cup shortening, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 Tbsp brown sugar, and 3/4 cup milk. I don't roll my biscuits, I just shape them into loose balls, but I did fold over the dough, and that helped them to not be too heavy. All in all, they turned out pretty good, still a bit tasteless, as I see other people have comlained about. I just smothered them in jelly, and that fixed the problem!

Amazing Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2005
This recipe was great with a little tweaking-I used about a half cup yogurt as suggested, left out the onion, used about half a cup of brown sugar, and used animal crackers for the topping because I didn't have saltines or graham crackers(ahh, the joys of having kids!). Turned out delicious!
