I have used this recipe recently on several hello kitty face cakes, for friends. It is always met with "oohs and ahhs" for presentation, and the taste is DEFINITELY better than some store-bought icing or fondant. I brought one to work and was immediately propositioned to make more. It's really kind of fun to make too, but I think it would be a disaster with small children. I made a chocolate version by using some cocoa instead of entirely powdered sugar, and it was pretty good as well. I should add that I made this in TX, in the middle of the summer, with no problems. You definitely have to refridgerate it for at LEAST a few hours before using, and then let it thaw to slightly cooler than room temperature.
