Lauren's Cincinnati Chili
We really, truly wanted to like this. It smelled really good, and I understand and definitely appreciate the love of regional food. Have always wanted to try Cincinnati Chili. Cooked exactly as directed; same proportions, etc. I guess you have to be from Cincinnati, but we just thought this was not so great. I guess we have ruined our palate w/Texas chili, but we couldn't get our taste buds around all those extra spices. They seemed to cover up the taste of whatever it was supposed to be. I'm sorry, and I do want to thank the author for posting. I feel I always learn from cooking different things, and maybe I just don't have the Cincinnati Chili knack. LOL

Florentine Caramelized Onion Soup
Made EXACTLY as stated. I'm sorry to rate this so low, but it was we did not care for it, and we could not eat it. My husband and teenaged sons who are quite adventurous when it comes to food all, after 2-3 tastes, pushed their bowls back and said they didn't like it. Oh, well. I know this is a legitimate recipe because I did a search and found very similar variations. I like the history of the recipe, but it is just too sweet. The incorporation of the bread just made it look a mess. Not a visually appealing meal either. Will stick to French Onion Soup.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana
Took longer to prepare than recipe stated. My husband said it was better than good, but not great; same with my teenaged sons. Followed recipe exactly. Probably won't be making again.
