So i asked my husband what type of cooking he wanted me to concentrate on this year and he said French. He said i should learn the basics of real cooking if i where to be a really really good chef. So i bought some cook books , looked up recipies
on here and off i go. His first recipies he…
I have learned so much in the past couple of years from this site and a myriad of cookbooks. I never thought i could cook and now i feel like a competent home chef. I am married with two adult children and recently moved to texas.
My favorite things to cook
I cook really good breakfast, pancakes, eggs Benedict, eggs, I am famous for my omelets. My husband loves my blts and i can bake pretty well. I don't really eat much breakfast but can cook it very well. lol. Update--I now love to cook lamb, duck and veggies
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mothers Cornbread and Buttermilk, butter beans, greens, and salad. I will never forget those things even though i can't cook them.
My cooking triumphs
I pulled off a game night feast. Now i am attempting an even bigger one. I filled a duck breast from a whole duck perfectly the first time and the duck came out great. I cooked beef tongue and it worked out great and i have made a whole snapper with eyes and all. quite an accomplishment for me.
My cooking tragedies
I still can't seem to make a decent pesto or maybe we just don't like pesto. I am awful with a crockpot and i have mangled many beef roasts.
