Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
AWESOME roast. You don't really notice the cream of mushroom in the gravy. Great over rice since it makes a lot of gravy. I followed the recipe (used recipe for onion soup mix) except used red wine for half the water. Add veggies for last hour of cooking.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2010
WOW! I use to love the Betty Crocker Fudge brownie mix. I have searched for a recipe to equal it. This recipe TOPS it and then some! I used 1 1/2 c raw sugar and 1 1/2 c brown sugar. I used milk choc chips (because that's what I had). Both chocolates were Ghirardelli.

Feta Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
Great recipe. I use Italian bread crumbs and tomato basil feta. I just sprinkle the bread crumbs to cover the bottom of the baking dish, add chicken (skipping the stuffing and pounding), sprinkle the feta on top of the chicken then sprinkle a little more bread crumbs and bake. SAME taste with LESS WORK! Our kids L O V E this recipe!

Never Fail Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
GREAT recipe, I have never successfully rolled out ANY dough before this recipe (used a cloth pastry mat and roller cover for the first time though). This would be great as is for quiches but next time I will add a bit more sugar for desserts - and I do NOT like my desserts overly sweet

Make-Ahead Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
Even with ALL the great reviews I was skeptical that I could make this gravy one day ahead, put in the frig and it would still be great. I am VERY happy to say this gravy was EXCELLENT the next day! Thank you for this recipe and taking the stress out of gravy!

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
Excellent recipe! I added some honey, cayenne & dry mustard. I increased the chili sauce to around 8 oz and decreased the vinegar to around 3 Tblsp. I roasted my roast the day before in the oven, put it and the sauce in the a crockpot in the fridge overnight. Then just heated it up the next day before serving. I received tons of praise the first time I made it!

Whole Grain Waffles

Reviewed: May 28, 2006
GREAT recipe! I use fat free milk and add 1 scoop of protein powder. My children and husband ask for these almost every weekend. I haven't had the chance to try freezing them, we've never had left overs for more than a day or 2, even with doubling the recipe :)

I used crushed garlic instead of powdered. Tastes great, easy to make, pretty healthy and low cost! A winner in my book!

Non-Edible Cinnamon Ornaments

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
Great! Use a straw instead of a toothpick to make the holes. Makes about 14 3" ornaments. Needed closer to 1 C applesauce. Be sure to reserve some cinnamon for dusting the surface (I also used parchement paper) and while rolling.

Banana Oatmeal Cookies II

Reviewed: May 26, 2005
SOOO good, interesting as well. I used butter instead of shortening, nutmeg instead of cloves, omitted the walnuts and added 3/4 c chocolate chunks (mostly due to what I had or did not have). Like other reviewers, I also needed to bake them for 12 min. Will make again!

Grain and Nut Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2005
GREAT! I too use less milk & buttermilk (about 1 1/2 c total) and sometimes a bit more oatmeal and/or wheat flour (up to 1 C each). I also add 2 Tblsp wheat germ and a mashed banana. This is an EXCELLENT and easy recipe for pancakes. They taste a bit like banana bread. You will never want boxed mix again!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2005
I used low sodium soy sauce. The ingredients (except pork) can be premixed and frozen (in ziploc bag) and pork can be frozen (in separate bag). Put the pork in cooker first and then the sauce, cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. We loved it, very good flavor and very tender!
