Brownie Mallow Bars

Loved these. I used Ghiradelli double chocolate brownie mix. Baked it in a 9 x 13 glass pan for 28 minutes before topping with marshmallows. Let cool before adding topping. People kept coming back for more! A new favorite!

Tasty soup. The potatoes disappeared, so next time I think I'll cut them bigger.

Pumpkin Bread

Perfect as is! I doubled the recipe and it made three large loaves. My kids and husband couldn't wait for it to cool. It was devoured. I didn't add nuts or raisins, but I think these would be a nice addition.

Wonderful. Omit the cinnamon and use real garlic. Double the spices. Try with lime, cilantro and green onion.

Blueberry Breakfast Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
Excellent. I covered the bottom of a non-stick skillet with frozen berries & sprinkled on about 2-3 T. of sugar. I mixed the cornstarch and water, poured over the berries and sugar and heated to boiling. It was a little too thick, so I added a bit more water to thin it out. Tasted for sweetness. Delicious! Served over waffles and topped with whipped cream.

The flavor was good. Be careful not to overcook these. Mine were overdone at 30 minutes!

My family didn't care for the flavor of these. I think it was the tarragon...

Loaded Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
Good, but it was hard to get the seasoning into the potatoes. Even though I used way more butter than called for, you couldn't tell. And the Parmesan was not noticeable. I like the presentation, though. My son particularly liked the rosemary, but wanted to know how we could get more of the flavor throughout the potato.

Holiday Chicken Salad

I often make this without bell peppers, paprika or seasoning salt. Sometimes I add red grapes or substitute them for the Craisins. Good with walnuts too.

Dad's Leftover Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
Delicious! I omitted the onion powder and celery seed, as the real deal already added loads of flavor. I also prefer seasoning with thyme, sage and marjoram instead of Italian seasonings.

French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2011
Wonderful! I took this to a potluck and it was a huge hit. I put the chuck roast in a dutch oven, covered with water and other ingredients. I skipped the garlic powder and used the real deal, along with an onion. I cooked it until it was tender - 4 hours or so. I used partially baked scissor french rolls that I finished baking for 10 minutes or so. Sliced and spread with mayo, horseradish and mustard. I topped with provolone and grilled open faced until bubbly. Topped with beef, sauteed onions. Strained aujus and put in a fat separater - removing fat before serving. Superb!

A new favorite! Update: We really liked these, but they do not hold well. Eat them soon after baking.

Savory Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
The whole family loved this! I lined a 9 x 13 pan with heavy-duty foil, leaving plenty of foil extending over the edges to wrap-up around the roast. Then I placed the roast on the foil, and pour on plenty of olive oil. Topped with the sage, marjoram and salt. Tossed in some quartered red potatoes, onion and garlic cloves. Rubbed the oil and herbs over all and wrapped it up tight. Baked at 350 for about an hour until it reached 160. I made gravy out of the drippings, with lots of whole milk, and salt. Delicious!

Cranberry Sauce I

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
1 used one bag cranberries, 1/2 cup brown and 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1 cup OJ. I couldn't justify boiling down Gran Manier, so I added 2 Tablespoons AFTER the berry mixture was done heating.

Cola Pot Roast II

This was good. I forgot to turn the roast over, so it wasn't as tender as it should have been. The gravy could have used some thickening too.
