Not too far removed from college and am exploring the joys of cooking. Still learning technique and how to use certain ingredients.
I have a very limited income so recipes without exotic/hard to find/expensive ingredients are key.
I'm also trying to eat healthier so I try to cook as many meals as possible from scratch.
My favorite things to cook
I get great satisfaction out of making food people enjoy and that I can afford. So usually my favorite meals are the ones I've made cheaply. Got ground beef free after coupons, made burgers and fries from allrecipes. So much healthier than fast food, and a ton cheaper.
I like to grill as much as possible too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Big dinners on Thanksgiving and Christmas....All the food you could ever want, everyone's favorite dishes, and plenty to go round.
My cooking triumphs
I think my turkey routine is absolutely perfect. I use it on turkeys and turkey breasts and it has not disappointed yet.
My cooking tragedies
Brownies :( I use the popular recipe here and it's only worked for me once--I either get spongy, or thing, flavorless, stuck to the pan chunks.
