Southern Breakfast Skillet

Excellent recipe which I will definitely prepare again. When you add the onion, throw in a diced green pepper - it works!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
This is a good recipe. I tried it today and varied it a bit to suit my style of baking. I prefer weights to volume measures for flour. So, I used 2 pounds (32 ounces) of flour. I prefer butter to oil, so I used 1/2 stick of butter of melted and cooled butter instead of the 1/4 cup of vegetable oil. It baked in 32 minutes and had a beautiful, thin, light brown crust and a delicate crumb. I tried a slice spread with butter and a slice toasted with butter. They were delicious, but a tad sweeter than I prefer. Then next time I bake this bread (soon), I'll drop the sugar to 1/2 cup and I may reduce the sugar further depending on the taste.

Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2012
My grandsons love this recipe! Thank you Calliko for submitting it. I omit the onion and use a tad more sauce (for a total of a jar and a half), but that's the only changes to a recipe that's always a hit at our house.

Cranberry Chicken I

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2012
My family enjoyed this recipe very much. It was extremely easy to put together and, served with rice, it was a winner! The only change I made was to use just one envelope of the onion soup mix. Thank you Heather for sharing your recipe with the allrecipes community.

Hash Brown Casserole II

This was given a thumbs up by the family. I did cut the butter down to 1/3 cup and omitted the butter and cornflakes topping. Everyone agreed that this was a keeper. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome on a snowy day in Minnesota! I doubled the sauce and reduced it and then added the browned chicken as other reviewers suggested. Thank you Kate for a simple and tasty recipe.

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
Such a nice meal to serve my family! It was easy to prepare - I was careful with the garlic, seasoned the chicken with a tad of cajun seasoning and used an entire bag of spinach. Many thanks to the Miner Family. This is a definite keeper!

Hamburger Corn Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2013
My grandsons loved this soup even on a hot July day. My changes include: reducing to three cans of corn (2 regular and one cream style), a half cup of vegetable broth, a tad of granulated garlic, and a tad of basil. I like to measure my potatoes and two cups of peeled and diced red potatoes were perfect. Lastly, I cooked it on the stove! Thank you Meemps for sharing your recipe.

Margarita Beef Skewers

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2013
We made the minor tweaks mentioned by previous reviewers - increased the garlic, added pepper and red pepper flakes, omitted the sugar, added lime juice and lime zest, and soaked the skewers in the margarita mix. We also used top sirloin. However, family members felt the lime taste didn't fit with the beef. Sorry - not a keeper.

Italian Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2013
This soup was perfect on a December day in Minnesota with a temperature outside of -5. I followed the recipe, but added a cup more of water. I also cooked the pasta separately. All of the family felt it's a keeper of a recipe - thank you Jackie!
