Kielbasa and Cabbage

Perfect recipe for an overcast November day with 8 inches of snow headed our way - followed one reviewer's advice and par-cooked 4 potatoes (diced) in the microwave and added them in with the sausage. Delicious meal - my bet is that the leftovers will be delicious as well - thank you KIKATY

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2014
Happy day after Halloween! I followed the recipe - somewhat. Followed one reviewer's advice and boiled the seeds, dried them overnight on a cookie sheet and then coated them with a butter, olive oil, and salt mixture. Roasted at 300 degrees for around 30 minutes. The family said they were the best we have had - thank you Rosemary.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2014
Hmm - I have mixed thoughts about this recipe. I followed the recipe almost as written with the exception of using 12 oz of noodles and omitting the topping. I baked it at 350 for 30 minutes in a covered casserole dish. The grandsons enjoyed the meal very much and I will keep the recipe - but next time I will try adding some milk as a previous reviewer suggested. I think it may lighten the dish somewhat. Broccoli was served on the side - one of their favorite veggies. Altogether, as I reflect on it, a rather nice meal - no leftovers at all! Thank you, Dawne.

I followed the recipe exactly - except for adding a tad of heavy cream and a tad of cayenne. The soup was very smooth and light and we enjoyed it the next day as well. Definitely a keeper - Thank you, Lee!

Slow Cooker Beef Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
Excellent! Followed the recipe as written with the exception of using dried herbs instead of fresh. Using my faithful Dutch Oven, I baked this, covered, at 300 degrees for several hours - adding the carrots and celery after the first hour. Served with mashed potatoes -very tender and tasty - thank you, Chef John !

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2014
We made this recipe after visiting our local farmers market and acquiring a nice butternut squash. Delicious!! The only changes we made were reducing the cream cheese to one 8 ounce package, and using butter and chicken stock. Thank you to the reviewer who noted that a two pound squash was the same as six cups of peeled and cubed squash. Also, our thanks to Mary -

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2014
This recipe is great. It is nearly identical to the one I use. I wanted to try this recipe with the combination of one cup brown sugar and one cup white sugar and a bit more zucchini as the reviews suggested. I was fascinated by the video. I wish it had revealed how the flour was dipped and measured. That is one of the details that videos can, and should, disclose (the video shows the sugar being dipped). I prefer weight measures for the reason that the amount of flour called out by cups in a recipe depends on how the flour is dipped and measured.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2014
The grandsons weren't thrilled with this recipe. I think the hot pepper flakes and the hot sauce didn't mesh with the other seasonings. I won"t make it again - but obviously a number of reviews enjoyed it and so to each their own.
