J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
I had never made biscuits before. I did take other readers advice and use butter in lieu of shortening, 3/4 tablespoon of baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and 3/4 cup of milk instead of 1 cup. The dough did seem very wet and the biscuits did not have the nice shape I would have liked. They did however turn out okay and I used them to make my son sausage egg biscuits for breakfast. He said they were good and seemed pleased.

Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Turkey

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2012
Since reading this recipe I have made it several times and it always yields a very tender turkey. I also have tried it with a boneless breast and it is great. I make it exactly according to directions except I left the skin on. You won't be sorry and what a time saver.

Country Pumpkin Muffins

These are absolutely perfect and I would not change a thing. They have a wonderful creaminess about them. Everyone who tried one had nice things to say about them.

Pumpkin Pie Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
This is very good and I make it several times throughout the year. It always turns out well. Just make sure you wix the biscuit/baking mix in very well or it can get small lumps in it. Yummo

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
I followed the recipe to a "T" and the meat turned out super tender. I am going to rate this at 3 stars. I thought the taste of the apple cider vinegar was very strong. If I made it again I would use white vinegar and reduce the amount of it by half. The sauce was a little runnier than I would expect for a pulled BBQ recipe.
