About this Cook
I am a small town girl who grew up cooking at the stove next to my mother who was the wife of a coal miner and mother of four. We didn't have a lot of money, so there was a lot of good old fashioned food; spaghetti, soups, and whatever was on sale at the market. I learned almost everything I know about cooking from her. My biggest regret...not learning to make her delicious homemade noodles that she served with beef roast on special occasions.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, desserts, meat and potato meals, pasta, and just any old good home cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Peanut butter candy, and nut rolls at Christmas
My cooking triumphs
My nut rolls are the bomb!
My cooking tragedies
The lasagna that was ready to go into the oven....I turned my back for a few minutes and my 100 lb. golden retriever pulled it off the counter and onto the floor! I literally cried!!

World's Best Potato Salad
Awesome salad dressing! I have always made my own but not with canned milk. Wow! There's something about it that takes potatoes over the top! I use it for macaroni salad as well. Great job Kaye Lynn!!!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust
Made this today, doubled it for a two crust pie. This was my first perfect pie crust, it was a dream to work. I used all butter, super cold. This was the first pie dough I made that was actually flaky! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Sweet Dinner Rolls
This is nearly identical to my moms recipe that my famil would fight over when it came out of the oven. I form into balls and bake in a round pie pan BC that's how Mom did it. I don't know why there were poor reviews, they had to be doing something VERY wrong. Mine turn out great every time! A1 recipe deserving of 5+ stars!
