Healthier Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
I made this as healthy as I could--even using whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose. Used thinly sliced sirloin and low-fat sour cream--served over whole wheat egg noodles. It was delicious and the family loved it! Will make again.

Whipped Horseradish Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
This is really good and elegant. It is a mild sauce, even after adding more horseradish. But if you are looking for a little something to add this is perfect. Those who want more zing can always add more!

Cinnamon Krisp

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
This is truly delicious. Used "normal" recipe for krispy treats (3 TB butter, 10 oz marshmallows and 6 cups krispys). Added Trader Joe's toasted slivered almonds (toasted almonds have even greater flavor) and raisins. Can't believe I didn't think of this!

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
My family RAVED over this. Like others, I added a squeeze of honey and used less soy but otherwise didn't change a thing. House smelled heavenly! I served with brown rice and steamed broccolli and cinnamon apples. A winner!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Yum-o. Making this all the time now! So quick and easy and cheap! Plus, I usually take some of the dough and make into breadsticks-- sprinkle with a little garlic salt!

Absolutely delicious. So moist-- unbelievable, especially if you wrap it in foil and let it sit a day or two before cutting!

Banana Oat Muffins

Really good! I used Splenda in place of the sugar. Also substituted 1/2 of the oil with unsweetened applesauce. You would never know the difference!

Made for sister's baby shower. Delicious! Almond extract might be a little overpowering for some-- might decrease to 3/4 tsp nextime...

Vickie's Beer Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
Good texture and great for a first try of making from scratch. (I LOVED Trader Joe's beer bread mix which they have discontinued). I didn't have self-rising so I added 1 1/2 tsp salt and 4 1/2 tsp baking powder. I also added 1 tsp garlic powder but it was still lacking in flavor a bit-- will add a little something else next time. Will definitely make again though!
