Kris' Amazing Shredded Mexican Beef

The name is right on, this is AMAZING. The meat came out moist, tender and flavorful. What more could you ask for? I think this recipe would work equally well with pork or chicken.

Best Easy Chicken Croquettes

These were much better than other recipes I have tried. I too used Cream of Mushroom because it was all I had and it worked great. Just be sure to double or triple the recipe because they go fast. I can't wait to try it in a sandwich like another reviewer suggested.

I thought these cookies tasted really good but they didn't look nearly as attractive as in the picture. The dough is hard to work with. I think next time I will try a cookie press.

Chocolate Ice Cream

The only change I made to this recipe is I added a bag of Reeses peanut butter cups (the tiny ones used for baking). Very good chocolate flavor. This recipe is a keeper!

Monkey Bread

Despite the fact that I - 1)misread the recipe and used a tube pan instead of a fluted pan and 2) increased the recipe and had to finish it in the microwave because it was mushy -it still tasted fantastic! Everyone loved it! I can't wait to try again with the correct pan and proportions. One tip: put the brown sugar mixture in a plastic bag and shake the buttered dough in it for easier clean up.

Breakfast Sausage

I used rather lean pork for this so it was a little healthier. The flavor was kind of mild so next time I think I will increase the amount of spices otherwise it was excellent. Much better than store-bought.

Belgian Waffles

I had high hopes for this recipe after reading the rave reviews but it just didn't live up to the hype. The waffles were not crisp on the outside and the flavor was bland. I've had better luck with a mix. A lot of trouble for something that was just so-so.

Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream

If you like to eat peanut butter out of the jar this is the ice cream for you. But for me it was a bit too much. I will make it again but next time I'll use a little less peanut butter.

Apple Pie Ice Cream

This turned out pretty good. I did make 3 minor changes. First, since I used the hard store-bought cookies I just crumbled them and added without the baking step. Second I chopped the apples into bite-sized pieces instead of slicing them. Third I did cook the egg/cream mixture because I have young children. They all liked it - the cinnamon wasn't overpowering.

Chocolate Pinwheels

These are pretty good. I make them following the recipe during most of the year. But at Christmastime I leave out the cocoa and tint 1/2 red and the other 1/2 green. Then I brush them with milk and sprinkle with colored sugar. Very pretty.

Butter Pecan Ice Cream

My kids loved this ice cream. The only changes I made was to add 2 teaspoons (for a double recipe) of butter flavoring with the vanilla and a bit of sugar & a pinch of salt to the pecans when I cooked them in the butter (I cooked them until the sugar caramelized).
