Maple Salmon

Followed recipe exactly. It was good but nothing to rave about. I will probably not make it again just becasue the Delicious Salmon recipe from this site was better.

Stewed Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
I'm always looking for good cabbage recipes since it is such a great diet food. I sprayed my pan with Pam instead of using butter and it worked well. I did end up adding just a little olive oil to keep the onions from burning on the bottom after about 10 minutes. I used about 4 celery stalks- we like celery. I also added 1 can kidney beans (rinsed and drained) the last 10 minutes to add some fiber and filling and it was wonderful! Will definitely be making again. I highly recommend the addition of kidney beans :)

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
Really very good. I used olive oil instead of veg oil. The sauce thickened very quickly. It had just the right amount of kick. Very easy and quick prep. Will definitely make again.

Brownie Batter + Cupcake = The SECOND BEST Cupcake. Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
I used veg oil instead if canola oil. Thinking they would have turned out better if I made the batter as the boxes said to. They were just ok. I think plain brownies or plain cake would have been better. I sprayed the liners with Pam and didn't have any problems with sticking. I frosted half with chocolate frosting and the other half with Peanut Butter frosting from this site. I preferred the chocolate frosting ones. Will not make these again- darn, I had high hopes.

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
Really good. I had to use more milk than what the recipe called for to get the right consistency.

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
Made it in the crock pot. Turned out really good but next time I will definitely double the sauce as others have suggested. Made a great salad with fat free sour cream, salsa and cilantro.

Chipotle Shrimp Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
Yikes. I had high hopes for this b/c of all the great reviews but this just wasn't good. Not sure if it was the adobo sauce stuff or the bacon but it just didn't mesh well together.

Asian Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
Just ok. The only change I made was cutting the oil in half and I did marinade the salmon for 4 hours. The flavor was good but nothing to write home about. Delicious Salmon from this site was much better and not as fattening from all the oil.

Tropical Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Used olive oil instead if veg oil and crushed pineapple instead of tidbits. I also used the pineapple juice in place of the water. Easy and quick. It was good and I will make again- maybe use chicken next time.

Sweet and Spicy Sweet Potatoes

I love sweet potato fries and these were good but I use a recipe that uses just a few ingredients and it's better than this was.

Quick and Easy Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
Appropriately titled- so quick and easy! I left out the olive oil to cut fat and calories- just sprayed the pan with Pam. I doubled the sauce as suggested by others. Next time I will double the sauce except for the pepper. 2 tsp was too much. Will definitley make again.

Rocky Road Candies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Used 10 oz. marshmallows as others suggested and it was plenty! I will make these again but I think I will add some peanut butter to the chocolate- it just seemed to be the only missing thing.

Fruit Pizza II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
I used marshmallow cream instead of the whipped cream which I will do again. The glaze really makes this pizza. I would lightly brush it on right right before serving as it made the cookies kind of soggy after they sat for a day. I liked them as individual cookie pizzas rather than 1 big pizza.

Fruit Pizza

The cream cheese and marshmallow cream are great together but it needed something else. I added the glaze from this site's Fruit Pizza II and it was perfect.

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Used red pepper flakes in place of chili pepper flakes b/c I read they are the same thing. I left out the veg oil to cut calories- didn't seem to need it anyway..I didn't have a can of beef broth so I used 2 beef boullion cubes with 2 cups of water and let the liquid simmer out about 10 minutes. I added everything to the crockpot after the beef broth simmered with the meat. I used 20 oz. diced tomatoes with green chilis as that is what I had on hand. I also added 1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained. Added the zucchini an hour before I served it. Excellent. Will be a regular in our house.

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
I did not use bacon drippings at all. Used turkey kielbasa and turkey bacon. Browned the kielbasa in pan 1st then removed and mixed the rest of ing with the cabbage in the pan. Crumbled a little bacon over individual servings in order to keep better track of the calories. I thought the amount of caraway seeds was perfect. I used chicken broth in place of the water. Will definitely make again.

Summertime Tilapia

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
Didn't have shallots so I used 1 TB dried onion. I also cut the sugar in half as suggested by other reviewers but next time I will add the full 2 TB as I don't think it was too sweet at all. I didn't marinade the fish- just put frozen fillets in a foil lined pan and poured the marinade over them. Cooked them at 425 for about 18 minutes. This ones a keeper!
