Iced Mochas

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
Taste is probably more like 3 stars but the fact that I can save 5 bucks by making a cold coffee drink at home bumps it up to a 4. A little too much sugar as stated. Definitely worth making when you are craving a coffee drink and don't want to drive somewhere and spend the $$.

Frozen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
I'm a huge cookie dough fan so I am rating this recipe as a 5 but those who don't really care about cookie dough would probably rate it a 3 or 4 (like Hubs). I left out the walnuts and I used 1 cup regular size choc chips b/c I don't care for the minis. I coated them with choc almond bark which is a must. I put the leftovers in the freezer for a later date. Mmmmmmm- I might have to pull one out now since I'm thinking about them.....

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
You can't go wrong with this one! I doubled the sauce and marinaded 3 large chicken breasts (cut up) for about 4 hours in a ziploc bag. I made double the sauce again and used it for basting. I didn't have pineapple so I used red onion and red pepper pieces on the skewers with the chicken. Awesome!

We thought this was kind of bland and not spicy at all.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
Just average. I doubled the spices and the chicken was still kind of bland. We grilled it and basted with the lime mixture. Probably will not make again.

Kielbasa and Cabbage II

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
This was really 3 stars for us. I didn't use any sausage though so I wanted to be fair. I was looking for a diet friendly side to use my huge cabbage I got from the farmers market. I halved the pepper as others suggested and I am so glad I did. The full amount would have been too much. This was easy but the flavor was just average.

Tex-Mex Burger with Cajun Mayo

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
Good. We had to grill these on the George Foreman since it started raining right before dinner. I'm thinking they would have been better on the regular grill so we will give them a try again. The cajun mayo was a nice change from ketchup and mustard.

Stuffed Strawberries

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
I used a vanilla extract with a touch of orange extract b/c that is what I had on hand. I found it hard to get the cream into the strawberries while still looking nice. Anyway, they were good but not outstanding. Not sure I will ever make these again.

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
Very easy and good. I rolled mine in the butter and was generous with rolling them in the sugar mixture and it ended up being a little too much sugar. Next time I will dip the top half only. They probably aren't company worthy but worth making again when looking for something more than your typical weekday breakfast.

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
Made exactly as stated except I used Hersheys Special Dark cocoa. This was so moist and delicious. I frosted it with Rich Chocolate Frosting from this site. Perfection.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
No more store bought frosting for me! This is so good. I used Hersheys Special Dark cocoa to go with my dark choc cake. I had to use almost twice the amount of milk called for to get the right consistency. This makes soooo much. I should have halved the recipe but I am kind of glad I didn't b/c now I have a big tub of it my freezer just waiting for the perfect brownines!

Beef-Stuffed Squash

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
I wish I would have believed the other reviews that said this was bascially meatloaf stuffed in a squash. The meatloaf part is good but just your basic meatloaf. The squash is plain and they don't really go together well. The Lemon BBQ Meatloaf from the site is so much better.

Jimmy's Mexican Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
The meat is really good for this. After making 1 round of the pizzas we just made big taco salads with the meat and beans. So easy and delicious. You wouldn't think the flavor of the meat would be that good since it is so basic but it really does have great flavor.

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
I cut the olive oil to 3 TB and only let it marinade for 1 hour as that is all the time I had. The taste was delicious.

Asian Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2011
I used 3TB olive oil instead if 6 TB veg oil and 1 tsp ginger instead of the fresh ginger as called for. The dressing is fantastic and the 5 stars are really just for that. I used a bag of 'broccoli slaw' and cut up some red pepers and cilantro instead of cutting up all that cabbage. Will make again.

Sweet Polish Sausage

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
I used 1 LB turkey kielbasa- boiled it for about 30 minutes then put it in the oven for 50 min. I doubled the sauce. It was good but not great. Seemed like a lot of prep work for the result. Not sure I will make it again.

Factory Workers Chicken

Reviewed: May 17, 2011
This was pretty good. It's so easy. I threw mine in the crockpot and shredded the chicken after about 7 hours on low. My husband tried it like a chicken burrito and in a sandwich with cheese and Ranch dressing- both were good. It's a keeper for ease and versatility- I think the flavor might be missing something.....

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: May 14, 2011
I had never heard of sopapilla before but came across this recipe and really wanted to try it. I'm so glad I did b/c it was awesome! I used a little less sugar in the filling and topping based on other reviews but next time I will use all the sugar as no one thought it was too sweet. I made it the day before our coookout and let it is sit in the fridge all night. It was just perfect. I couldn't imagine leaving the honey off as others have. The honey on top was great!
