Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
i do cook a lot of moose. i've done onion soup mix with great sucess and apple juice with great sucess so this should be great. i have to state that my favourite so far way is with cola-cola. it's a little bit sweet and fall apart tender(but use canned coke bottle kind dosen't have the same results)

Jo-Ann's Power Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
These are awsome. I doubled the recipe for extra thick bars. I made a couple minor changes like pumpkin seeds instead of sunflower seeds and also added flax seed and almonds. For the dried fruit I used blueberries and orange flavoured cranberries (Bulk Barn, Canada). My husband liked them so much he took some on his moose hunting trip.

Savory Vegetable Beef Stew

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
very tasty, great flavour, easy to make. made a few changes, switched the tomatoe sauce for soup. and did less potatoes and carrots, then added celery, corn and mushrooms. deleted peppers, don't like them. kept the onion and can of tomatoes the same. Make sure you disolve the flour in COLD WATER before adding to the stew, or you'll end up with little balls of douge

Gary's Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
they were good but not what i was looking for. the stuffing mixed with the cream cheese great idea, but the cream cheese was to rich for me and my husband. i will try again with another cheese maybe riccota or jack or mozza.

Beef and Bean Chimichangas

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
these were very good, needs more spice for 5 stars. i used homemade refried beans instead of canned and a red pepper instead of green. i'll add a little more spice to the meat next time. i added chedder and monterey jack cheese to the top in the last 10 minutues.

Cheddar-Bacon Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2012
i liked it, way better then store bought cheese. it had a little bit flourie(sp?)texture, but i did see that i should have melted the cheese in the sauce instead of just mixing it in with the noodles. i used 2 spoons of extra butter because thats the way i always do my roo. Bacon was a great touch taste wise and gives it a splash of colour. i cheated and used bacon bits.

i didn't enjoy this all, but ill give a three because it smelled so good and i'm not sure if it was a texture or a taste thing that made me dislike it.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
Awsome. Best ever, and so easy to make. i did cut down the salt to 1 tsp. i used have the liquide reserve and butter, with chesse to mash. this so made my day, first time ever my beans have turned out eddiable, been trying for nine years. this will be my recipe from now on. jan 3/2012 tried cooking with chicken broth, turned out very soft almost too soft, although they froze and reheated well. wiil reduce cooking time next time if i use chicken broth again.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2011
great flavour, a little dry. has a sweet basil taste that is not to over powereing. i used oven ready noddles so i added 1 cup of water to sauce once the sauce had finished simmering and brought the sauce to a quick boil before i began layering. will make again, but i think i'll add another can of paste and maybe a small can of tomatoe sauce. oh and i did not drain the tomatoes.

Orange Sunshine Cake

awsome cake-very moist made some changes, not a fan of orange. i used french vanilla cake mix and banana pudding for cake and wipped topping with vanilla pudding with banana slices on top. and used vanilla extract instead of orange.

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
i liked it, but some of my beans didn't cook-still hard. i purred some of the soup, and tossed back into the pot to thicken broth. i also added a spicey smoked sausage instead of ham. flavour was great but the hard beans kinda ruinned it a little. i found out what i did wrong i used a split pea and lentil mixture. split peas need to sit over night. i made this recipe again using only lentils and it turned out just fine.
