Calzone

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2012
These are so very simple to make. We make the crust but divide it in two. The kids then fill the strip down the center with whatever it is they want on theirs. When we wrap them we put a toothpick on it to show who's side is who's and they couldn't be happier. My husband and I add in sauteed onion, green peppers, olives and next time we plan on making an all meat lovers one. We do add some garlic to the butter on the top for added flavor. these are amazing.

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
This is great chili. I've done the recipe exactly as it states as well as used my crock pot for it as well. When I do the crock pot I use dry beans that have soaked over night and we normally make chili the day before we plan on eating it. We let it sit overnight in the fridge to let the flavors marry then we warm the chili up before dinner. Yummy.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
The only reason I gave this four instead of five stars is because I do not think it tastes like Salisbury steak but it does however taste like an amazing meat loaf patty. My husband says it tastes like an amazing meat loaf and he doesn't normally like meat loaf. We are making this again this week and it will have a permanent part of our recipe box. Thank you for sharing.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
Properly named. I've made this recipe about five times now. Even when I screw the recipe up somehow, which happens a lot, it is still amazing. I will be making it again tonight as well this time with Fennel seeds that I haven't had in the cupboard till now. We have been using elk burger with this recipe too and it's still amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. This is a new family favorite for us.

Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
These are wonderful. I made them on a night that we had friends over. Everyone thought they were great. I did use bone in chops as that's all that I had on hand but the flavor was wonderful. Next time I will be using double the sauce however. Thank you for sharing.

Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
I'm giving this a five in honor of my hubby. This is his favorite cake. I find it to be a bit soggy for my taste but I'm pretty picky about texture. He on the other hand, as well as my kids, absolutely love this. I will be using this recipe every year for his birthday lol. Thank you for sharing.

Uptown Beef Pie

I used regular pie crust instead of the puff pastry just cause I didn't have any on hand. The flavor on this is good. Next time however I will use fresh steamed veggies instead.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
This recipe was very easy to make. We had extra Italian sausage that I needed to use so I substituted that in place of the Andouille sausage. I live in a small town and don't believe I can find that sausage here anyway. Even using this other sausage the recipe has an amazing flavor. We added this to our recipe box and I'm making it again this week. Thank you for sharing.
