About this Cook
I love to cook, bake, and everything in between. The problem is that my husband doesn't always like what I'm making! I have my Accounting diploma from one of the only accredited career colleges in Canada, and am currently working as a Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant at a chartered accountant's office.
My favorite things to cook
Anything and everything :) I have recently discovered that I am very good at cooking comfort-type foods (lasagna, soups, cookies, etc), and have the friend & family reviews to back that up.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas, we make oodles upon oodles of sugar and gingerbread cookies. As in we're making quadruple batches because my dad tends to eat them before Christmas even comes around.
My cooking triumphs
Pumpkin pie, cinnamon buns, various soups, and pasta sauce. My homemade tacos are pretty delicious as well, and we've been able to stop buying the pre-packaged taco spice because of it!
My cooking tragedies
Turkey meatballs. They were bland, but yet my husband liked them. I'm also absolutely horrible at brownies. I don't know what it is, but I fail every time.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I
These cookies are to die for! I followed the recipe for the most part, substituting 1 cup of margarine for 1 cup of butter, using 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips and 1/2 cup semi-sweet chips, and needed an extra 1/4 cup of flour (however, that's just because I use my KitchenAid stand mixer to mix the dough). Instead of dropping by spoonful, I rolled into 1-ish inch balls and slightly flattened. Let them bake for 10 minutes until the top started cracking. And they were heaven! Soft and moist and full of flavour.

Simple White Cake
I followed the recipe for the most part, adding the extra 1/4 cup of milk, beat the living daylights out of the butter and sugar and after each egg addition, and used one reviewer's suggestion at alternating the flour and milk at the end... and these turned out just okay. Okay taste-wise, okay consistency, just okay. I'm hoping that icing will take them to another level. I gave it four stars for the simplicity of the ingredients and the consistency of the batter, but otherwise 'meh'

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls
I've been using this recipe for cinnamon buns for over 2 years and I have yet to have a horrible experience with it. I too liked that these didn't call explicitly for a bread machine, although I do use one (now that I have one, that is) for the dough and they turn out right every time. I'm also a bigger fan of using the 13x9 pan, as I find they spread out and up a lot better than with a muffin tin, and they also don't bubble over with the delicious innards.
