Honestly, have taken this dessert to a few different gatherings, even people who said "ehhhh, coconut is not my fave but ill try it " have said that this is one of the best cakes ever. Definitely, however, spoil your friends with the extra calories and work and use real whipped cream, maybe sweetened with a scratch of vanilla sugar. Wayyyyyyy better than plastic-y whipped topping.

I think it's perfect, I made it again this morning and added 2 grated carrots. Delish! I do find that I need 60 minutes for it to be fully baked. Yummy!

I hesitated because of the "artificial" dough used in this and to be honest, the mountain dew???? But, OH MY, let me tell you, probably the easiest and one of the most delicious desserts ever. I now try and keep a roll of pilsbury and bottle of mountain dew on hand for surprise guests. Everyone devours this!!!

Delish. Perfect texture, not too sweet, easy to add flavor of your choice (coconut was a hit) with the addition of extract. Third time I made them, dough was a bit sticky, so added a bit of flour. Perfect cookie recipe for cookie pops which I stuck into cupcakes. Kids loved them and so did parents!!

Um...made a DOUBLE batch of these as part of my christmas baking, so I would have lots to give away. I'm now standing in the kitchen with my apron on, making more...between my kids, husband and many visitors, the first 90 I made disappeared! Another reviewer said the recipe was missing the "snap" I think the only thing the recipe forgot to mention was that they should be hidden!!! DELICIOUS!!!

Yup. 5 stars it is. It's true that these are delicious but also fun looking. I tripled the recipe and kept 2/3 in the freezer for next time/surprise visitors. Awesome!

Delicious. I tried this cake, making only a few minor adjustments. In the batter, I added a couple of tbs fresh lemon juice in place of water, as well as lemon rind. For the icing, I used real whipped cream, no pudding mix, but folded in some more lemon rind and 2 tbs. seedless rasberry jam. The cake itself was lovely, moist, flavourful and dense. I didn't try the original icing recipe, as I don't like the artificial taste of the cool whip. My brother who is a professed "hater of all things lemon" actually ate 2 slices. If that doesn't tell you it's good, don't know what will! Great summer recipe. Super easy
