I was pleasantly surprised to see this recipe here! My aunt made this cake at a family get-together about 7 years ago, and I have made it many times since. It is always a hit and completely disappears! However, our family's recipe doesn't call for the third cup of milk, only the 2 cups needed to prepare the instant pudding according to the pudding box directions. I might try it with the third cup. Also, the chocolate frosting spreads easier if you microwave the container for 30-45 seconds (be sure to remove the aluminum film from the container entirely, because you don't want metal sparking in the microwave). Then stir the frosting with a spoon or knife, pour it over the pie, and spread. Then I refrigerate it at least 4 hours, but really this dish is best the 2nd and 3rd days, if it lasts that long!
